FortWayneHoosier Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 if this was posted sorry....but Myron Medcalf has IU getting beat by Chattanooga in his "10 bold tournament predictions" 3. Big Ten champ Indiana will lose to Chattanooga in the first round We're all excited about the potential Indiana-Kentucky matchup in the second round in the East Region. The two blue-chip programs refuse to play each other during the regular season. So this is a rare chance to witness the clash. But I think Chattanooga's defensive intensity (54th in defensive turnover rate) will disrupt the rhythm of a turnover-prone Indiana team (the Hoosiers have committed turnovers on 19.8 percent of their possessions, 283rd per KenPom.com). Guess that ruins that idea, huh? Brass Cannon Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Because Indiana's best play or anything close to it is as good as anyone else's in America. The NCAA tourney should bring that out. Also, Yogi Ferrell. Our best play usually requires AH MikeRoberts, colonel06, Alford Bailey and 2 others 5 Quote

Brass Cannon Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 What team does not play its best in its home arena? That wasn't the point and you know it. We're a hot and cold team. Hot we can beat anybody. Cold we can lose to anybody and we are usually cold away from the Hall which is why it's odd to me to be such a trendy pick Alford Bailey, colonel06 and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
mdn82 Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Why are we such a trendy final four pick?I think because we have the ability to control tempo and knock down shots. Plus the teams we are potentially playing struggle with their shot. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

bleedhoosier Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I like this.. I like these articles and everyone talking about how iu is going to struggle against Chatt. Yogi is going to smash heads from the get go. OG going to do OG. They got something to stop Bryant down low? To then stop biefeldt? To keep OG and Morgan off the glass? Fresh off a stinging loss? Popular Post hoosierbgh Posted March 14, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 14, 2016 This fan base sure is entertaining. When not busy trying to shove the coach out the door, we delight in making future opponents out to be the 2016 Golden State Warriors and recently defeated opponents into a last place JUCO squad. Chattanooga turns the ball over at a high rate as well, shoots 3's in the low 30's and hasn't faced an offense or defense like IU's all year. They lack the athletes to both guard Yogi and Troy on the 3 point line and keep them from driving at will. They also lack the size to match up with more than one of TB, Max, OG and Morgan at a time. If IU shows up and is locked in the game is over by half time. The only chance Chattanooga has is if they shoot lights out and IU plays flat on both ends. As for UK, they play fast, defend sporadically and rebound poorly. They are far from unbeatable. If IU holds the turnovers down and shoots well they should usher UK to an early exit. I'm really banking on the team being so upset how a majority of media personnel are already penciling in a UNC/UK matchup in the Sweet 16. There are some outliers, but I'd say 90% of what I've seen completely ignore IU after the first round. I hope we feel disrespected enough to play out of our minds this weekend. We can go ahead and throw out the Wake Forest and UNLV losses imo, this isn't the same team as the one that went through that tournament. Every team loses some games on the road you shouldn't, but that doesn't make you a bad team away from your home arena. Beowulf50 and DChoosier 2 Quote
