Bailey7878 Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 He'll know he made the wrong choice when Vanderbilt loses at home in front of 7,000 fans and he goes home and sees IU taking down a highly ranked team on Sports Center. Do they even draw 7000Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

See: Durham, Al. (versus Curtis Jones and DeVonte Green). That, and that Archie Miller recruits with a huge focus on kids that he thinks will be able to exhibit that toughness. Archie thinks that Rob Phinisee is an Archie Miller player. If RP shows that focus and toughness, he will play. Immediately. A lot. GloryDays, CR3AMnCR1MS0N, cthomas and 5 others 8 Quote

A lot. ..and boy, am I looking forward to a roster full of those tough, hard-nosed kids that fit Archie’s criteria. Archie hit the nail on the head when he commented after the Indiana State game that the team is “soft”. Although I appreciate everyone IU has on its roster and will always root them on, it’s definitely the truth. Crean recruited and coached teams that were “let’s just try to win games by outscoring the opponent”, while Archie’s mindset is “let’s prevent teams from scoring as much as we do”. The current roster just isn’t used to knowing how to do that, and Archie knows it. Crean’s philosophy backfired hardcore if the team wasn’t hitting their shots. That screenshot of the IU bench after the Howard game told a tale, which I hope is one way rather than the other. I’m hoping it was the players being down in the dumps that they know they can and should do better, rather than thinking “wow, I don’t want to have to play this way.” Jam, Stuhoo and txhoosier 3 Quote

Sometimes we get caught up in skill sets, athletic ability, God-given talent, etc and forget the intangibles. Players' mentalities are going to be more heavily weighted and rewarded during CAM's era. bigrod Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 A question I have been dying to ask anyone who may know, even before Garland made his decision, but didn't want to really push the conversation in this direction. It seems Vandy has all of the sudden become this basketball recruiting powerhouse. They are in on all these big time recruits. Many are speculating they have a chance to get all three that they are after. How much do you think Bryce has learned about recruiting from his dad? 8bucks and HooHooHoo22 2 Quote

Homer seemed a great and honest guy and often found kids overseas. General consensus on his brother Scott is that he is shady. Hopefully Bryce is able to recruit clean and coach well. Trish Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Good ole Bryce Drew. I wonder if he still keeps tabs of Hanner? College basketball is shady, hence the big FBI scandal. Maybe Bryce is shady, we'll probably never know. But him going to Vandy shouldn't be all to shocking considering it's basically in his backyard. Two other top recruits interested in Vandy really just tells me that Vandy has always been Garlands top choice. Quote

I've posted this before, but it seems like it is warranted again. I've known the Drew family for almost 50 years. Homer and Bryce are some of the most genuine people I've ever met. I have no earthly clue what happened to Scott. I would be shocked if Bryce chose to follow in his brothers shady footsteps, but as you say, college hoops is shady business and even the most honorable have fallen to temptation.
