MoyeNeeded Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 I ran many a race and played a lot of soccer at that park. Also fished in that lake and watched ducks trying to land in the lake while it was frozen over. Good times! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appYeah, that's where all the cross country meets and our soccer team practiced for many a year! Also caught lots of bluegill in that lake. Even remember swimming there on the fake sandy beach lol!Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app IUsafety 1 Quote

MoyeNeeded Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Good interview with Pat. Listened this morning. Alot of props to one of my classmates and one of the best players ever out of New Albany Richie Johnson. Some nice insights on Romeo and the differences in how things are done today than in Pat's heyday. MoyeNeeded Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Richie Johnson aka “The Godfather”! Pat is always interesting to listen to. We used to compare Richie to Magic lol. 6'8 and could bring the ball the court, shoot, length for miles. Funny though, the best player at New Albany wouldn't play for the school team. He was a year ahead of Richie. This kid would only play intramural and park ball. Had Alford range. No sh*t! Kids name was Paul Malone I believe. Smooth stroke, about 6'3 or so. Would have loved to see him on the court.Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app SlamaJamaSisley 1 Quote

Sent from my Pixel using BtownBanners mobile app I disagree. It says that the Adidas execs had fear that they might lose Romeo to a Nike/UA AAU team. So they helped his dad create his own team, financially. This is not illegal. Romeo had a Nike school in his final 3 and a UA and a couple Nike schools in his final 7. This is basically Pitino just being salty and trying to make others look bad with rumors, since he can't get any one else in trouble with him. Feathery, thebigweave, Iugradman and 2 others 5 Quote

But, in Marvin's case, they were given way more than necessary to run a AAU team. With FBI probe on going, it's unwanted attention. Adidas could have done the same thing in this case. It seems very shady and if we expect changes coming to college basketball this would be something that could be addressed. Sent from my Pixel using BtownBanners mobile app Tak42 1 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Once again - I did not like anything surrounding Romeo Langford's recruitment. I hope this doesn't turn into anything serious, but Lousiville, UK, UCLA, and Vandy all being involved should give everyone reason for concern... Tom White, ebridges24, Maedhros and 1 other 4 Quote
