DChoosier Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Vandy was there and we were not. Was it because of timing or does the staff think that ship has sailed? Quote
Popular Post Uspshoosier Posted December 3, 2017 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2017 Vandy was there and we were not. Was it because of timing or does the staff think that ship has sailed? It’s 4 games into the high school season. Staffs have 7 recruiting opportunities or evaluations during the academic year. IU has already used at least 4 I can think of. Since this recruitment is heading into the spring (which was the plan the whole time) why would IU burn through their 7 opportunities before the turn of the new year. Since IU has 7 opportunities vandy and Kansas has 7 opportunities as well and since they are in Romeo’s top 3 it’s probably a good idea to use them. Let’s say IU burns through their 7 chances early and Romeo is playing for a state title. Shouldn’t the IU coach want to be able to be in attendance for Romeo’s biggest game of the year? AKHoosier Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Every time I see a video of Romeo Langford, I get a sick feeling at the thought of losing him to Vanderbilt. I hope he can see how much of a need we'll have for a shooter next year. Iugradman 1 Quote

Bailey7878 Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Looks like they are confident. If they thought he was in the bag there would be no need for those clowns to be at the game. I really dont like vandy.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk mookied39 1 Quote

woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 It is a f***ing joke, losing recruits to Vanderbilt. We lost one. That recruit went to his home town school. There has been no one else. So why continue yo use the plural? Sent from my SM-G930V using BtownBanners mobile app Napleshoosier, txhoosier, thebigweave and 2 others 5 Quote
AKHoosier Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 I just doubt we lose him to anyone but Kansas. If he definitely wants to compete for a championship next year, Kansas is realistically the only school that it's not a stretch to say that's possible. Plus they're Adidas. So it'll probably come down more to if he wants to play close to home or play for a contender. lillurk 1 Quote

8bucks Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 It is a f***ing joke, losing recruits to Vanderbilt. If we lose him to Vandy, you realize every other program also lost him to Vandy. UK, Kansas, Duke, MSU all would have lost him to Vandy. While we have an advantage of being the state school we had a bigger disadvantage of have coach Crean while other programs we building relationships with him. We lost that home school advantage and have been making up ground big time but we may not catch all the way up. You don't flip a switch and automatically get all your top recruits, and their families, to believe you are the best fit for them. If he comes he comes if not then I follow recruiting closely enough to know that when a recruit doesn’t even list a school(Indiana) last year when he was talking about schools recruiting him then there is a coaching change at that school at the start of the recruit senior year in High school that it was going to be a uphill battle regardless of who else was recruiting him. Kudos to CAM and staff for putting us in position to land him. We might need him more than the other schools but that means little in the world of recruiting. In recruiting it’s not about the ones you don’t get it’s about the ones you get. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app MIUGA, Walking Boot of Doom, ThompsonHoosier and 10 others 13 Quote

I’m cool with seeing how we are as a team next year with or without a player that will be in the program one year. I’m cool with a new coach bringing in a top 20 recruiting class for the 2018 class on his first cycle. I’m cool with a lot of things. Walking Boot of Doom, mdn82, mamasa and 16 others 19 Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Romeo would be a huge loss. There’s no other way to state it. And yes Duke, UK, Kansas and UNC recruited him too. I get that. But IU is the state school. If IU loses Romeo Langford, the top in-state player and top 5 recruit nationally to Vanderbilt, it’s absolutely inexcusable Iugradman 1 Quote
