HoosierAloha Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 That is an excellent class that would complement this years class. Completely what I want out of recruiting. We are not Kentucky and able to reload every year. I would love this class to complement this years class. Not that we're there yet, but a class of Cujo, DD, and Kegler would be way better than solid. It would be a home run with three high four star players who would connect with IU, have an immediate impact, and not be expecting to bolt UK style before they ever got to know a college professor. I posted this over in the 2016 wish list thread I still believe the best way to build a championship roster is through balance. So.. 1-2 Impact recruits (Alkins/Bridges) 2-3 Solid recruits (Davis/CuJo/Kegler) 1 project/specialty recruit (Gelon) IF we land those 3 it will be a solid class. I believe for us to be a championship contender we need an instant impact player. Now, if TB completely dominates as a frosh and stays a second year or if JBJ transitions to a lead guard and stays as a junior I will feel better about their chances. For this class to be excellent we need an Alkins, Bridges, or Thon. Just one dudes opinion though. HoosierTrav, GloryDays, waitingon6 and 3 others 6 Quote
Miller'sTheMan Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 If we get a commitment from Davis that would be huge, Cujo and Davis would start to form a really good class. Naturalhoosier, HoosierAloha, Bobman1 and 1 other 4 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Would Love to somehow add Davis and Kegler. It would be a solid class then. We could then put all our eggs into a spring commit basket (Thon, Rawle) I still love BB just don't see how we get him or Rawle unless JBJ leaves. On that note, JBJ is doing everything in his power to get drafted and bolt as soon as the opportunity presents itself. GloryDays and BGleas 2 Quote

I never thought JBJ was more than a 2-year player and I think he leaves either for the NBA or for an overseas team unless he should sustain a significant injury or just lay an absolute egg on the court. JaybobHoosier Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 How many different places do I have to have this conversation on this site? TACOS ARE FOR TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS PEOPLE! Fridays are for Fajitas if you want Mexican, Stir-Fry if you want Chinese, or Pizza for everyone else. You are dead wrong, Thursdays are for boneless wing night at BWW's. (drops mic and walks off) Come on Davis, get the recruitment over and commit to IU this weekend. drock161, Class of '66 Old Fart, BtownBanner6 and 1 other 4 Quote

hoosierpap Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Well that is not great news. Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein 2016 PF De'Ron Davis will visit Mississippi State (10/9-10/11) & Arizona (10/23-10/25), source told @CBSSports. Currently visiting Indiana. AKHoosier Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Meh, Noah Vonleh also had official visits set up to Ohio State and Syracuse, but committed to us on his first visit. It's not at all uncommon to commit despite having more official visits upcoming. Quote

The staff was pushing hard for a commit on this visit. Any time it doesn't happen it's a kick in the nuts even if he ends up committing here. They still have to recruit him hard and that takes time away from others. Again he may still come here but that isn't what the staff was hoping to get done this weekend. But it being decided the day before the visit suggests some things. 1) Davis is still weighing his options and not as near his decision as previously thought or 2) Schools have weaseled their way into scheduling their visits at the last minute because they believe there was a chance Davis commits on this visit. He scheduled them, which takes making a commitment to attend that weekend, which staff at the school then begins to arrange travel plans. So while he certainly could back out, he is now realistically intending to visit. If he wasn't, you don't schedule them bc it wastes a bunch of peoples time. So while I'm not saying he cannot commit because he has other visits scheduled, he could, this piece of news isn't adding to the logic of him committing this weekend. As long as we've been on DD he should be ours already. Hopefully Crean is wow-ing him even as we speak. Napleshoosier 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Hopefully he isn't just getting our OV of gratitude over in order to move on. Since we've been on him longest he may feel he owes us. Or he will commit to us soon. GloryDays and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Hopefully he just actually wants to visit his final schools before he makes a decision. If my child is ever fortunate enough to get recruited by multiple schools for something I would want them to visit in person before making one of the biggest decisions in their lives at that age. You would hope he gets blown away on his visit and commits Dalton26, mamasa, IUsafety and 2 others 5 Quote

AKHoosier Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Dang, kind of deflating to keep checking the boards in hopes of news of a commitment, but alas it's not to be yet. Looks like he'll go through the process of taking all his visits and will probably decide sometime in the early signing period I imagine. Hopefully the visit went well. NRT137 1 Quote
