Did the proposal a few years ago to allow undrafted players to return to college (if they didn't hire an agent) ever pass? I don't think it did but I may have missed it.

Don’t disagree, but he’s not an NBA caliber player so he’ll be back at Northwestern.  That was my point, wasn’t slighting him.

Just in general terms, how much money are we talking about for NIL payments? What is the budget for a given college? For IU? 

What could a player like JHS or TJD actually make in NIL?

Aside from the obvious (legality, etc) how dies this differ from what the Kentuckys and Memphis States of the NCAA world were doing pre-NIL?

I believe IU’s in good company here. Before last season the various “everybody gets some” funds had everyone at like ~70k minimum, if I recall what Chris mentioned correctly.

On the high end? Not sure, but I’d guess IU had a couple guys at or above a half mil.

TJD was likely over a million.  He had NIL deals all over the place.  I've not heard a specific amount but I'm guessing the Adidas NIL (Schifino and TJD) could be substantial. 

Kentucky reported Oscar got 2 million minimum and some reports say it could be over 3.  I think that would be extreme top end.  

In the pre-NIL days 100k would get you great players and 250-500k would get you the superstar top 5 ranked guys.  But also, different deals were made.  Sometimes it was parental housing, or a job for someone in the family, or a car, or, etc.....
