Here in Louisville, I can tell you the fans are starting to resemble IU fans before Crean was fired. Divided, fighting between Mack supporters and Mack haters, seeing themselves quickly fading over the last few years with bursts of greatness...in fact, they are really starting to resemble the late Crean period. Disgraced coach fired (and now relevant again), followed by a guy hired to rebuild and rebrand who has a decent season or two, but probably won’t get over the hump.

Iowa catch and shoot portal transfer CJ Fredrick to Kensucky.

Iowa loses Garza, Fredrick, and Nunge from their rotation. Murray becomes a 25+ per game guy, but they'll be without their best shooter and their all-everything player. And with no real freshman/portal help yet. Moreover, the local media is saying that Weiskamp isn't all that likely to return. If they lose him too they are going to be truly hurting,

Gotta think if our team system works we will (and other teams will) comfortably leapfrog them.

I like Fredrick as I think he’s a nice lil player. However, I just looked at Kensucky’s recruiting class this year and they look to be way down compared to past. 2 years in a row without pUKe in the tourney? Fan base will be in absolute meltdown mode!!!

With Antigua back in the fold watch the Paycats recruiting pick back up while Illinois has a dropoff.

Not saying the compliance office at IU is great, but seems they did their job here, no?

This is an NCAA issue that the compliance department worked around to allow the player to keep doing what he was doing

The foul rule they want to test is godawful. It’s unnecessarily convoluted and just deeply stupid. I don’t get why 5 fouls is considered an issue. Never have. But if you’re trying to keep guys on the floor, how about just not having disqualifications? Give a player 5 fouls. Any fouls on the player after 5 is 2 shots and the ball. It’s simple and adds another strategic element. But I don’t understand the need to change it to begin with.

Yea that seems really dumb. I am okay with having the 6 fouls. That's 3 per half for players and coaches. But the fact that men's basketball has yet to go to four 10-minute quarters is ridiculous. But I'd also like to see the same bonus structure but per quarter. So 7 fouls per quarter before bonus. Would cut down a crap ton on FTs which would just be fantastic.
