Not sure what Shaka would have to do for this guy to get higher grade. He’s got to be their most successful coach since McGuire. I don’t think Marquette would trade Shaka any more than ISU would trade Otz. Woodson also got a pass on SOS... many of us here on BTB could win 60% of the games against that level of competition with the talent that Woodson collected. Without TJD carrying him for the first 2 seasons, Woodson was a solid F. Quote

It was way better than some of those watered down Crean years. lillurk 1 Quote

Mike Davis had the hardest job in the history of college basketball for taking over for a fired Bob Knight. Quote

There’s nothing the NCAA can’t screw up, so I have no faith they can navigate this successfully. But, there should be several arguments to maintaining some semblance of the current system: 1) He’s not barred from earning NIL. If he wants to make money off his likeness he’s certainly allowed to. For example, Cody Zeller can come back and make money off of being Cody Zeller former IU player even though he doesn’t have eligibility. 2) So long as the programs are tied to the universities, which have typically been 4 yr degree earning institutions, there is some justification for limiting eligibility to 4 yrs. It’s not a capricious limit to favor the schools but instead allow other student athletes to matriculate through the system. 3) I don’t know much about anti trust law, but I’m failing to see the anti trust issue as he’s allowed to play for compensation in any number of organizations not named the NCAA. And in the event they lose on anti trust grounds they can seek an exception from Congress. The NCAA is so dumb it drives me crazy. Everyone could see they were going to lose the Obannon challenge from day 1. They had ample opportunity to get in front of this and put something sensible in place. Their obstinacy and idiocy along with horrible public relations have put them in a position to be completely dissolved if this goes south. go iu bb 1 Quote

We are 100% headed toward a world where someone burns out of the NBA or Euro League but wants to keep making money playing basketball, so returning to college is the best option. I can see it now. Zach Edey lasts little more than 4 years in the league, but decides college basketball is still an attractive and viable option. "You're interfering with my ability to make a living" will be his argument while he sues the NCAA and enrolls in school and signs a $2M NIL deal. Talk me down from the ledge. Quote

TheWatShot Posted May 23 Posted May 23 If college basketball ever reached a point where NBA players were allowed to return, I would 1,000% be done with this silliness and become a full-time NBA fan. LamarCheeks Posted May 29 Posted May 29 In the new ACC scheduling model, each team has one league opponent it won't play. That just strikes me as absurd. Then again, so is having a conference with teams in Boston and Palo Alto, California (sorta like a conference with teams in Piscataway, New Jersey, and in Seattle -- LOL). https://apnews.com/article/acc-schedule-unc-nc-state-duke-miami-be3a911141a60b0ad78b4d1436bec7b6 BannerVille and Hovadipo 2 Quote
