Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Are we having fun yet? Yeah, didn't think so. This game has the potential to be the equivalent of the North vs the South at Gettysburg and we're going to be Pickett's Charge getting mowed down by the Wolverines (16-1) (6-1). I'm not going to bother posting stats for Michigan because it will be too depressing and I'd much prefer to keep my mind focused on our undefeated national championship football team. JF87 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I don't think we'll beat Michigan Tuesday, but I'm hoping to see improvement in a few areas. First and foremost, I want to see improvement in our defense. We've been shredded by point guards in our last two games and we gave up 53 in the second half of the Nebraska game. The defense must improve. Secondly, I want to avoid the 2nd half collapse. We need to have consistency in effort and execution in the second half. Players need to learn to play through fatigue and the coach needs to use his scholarship depth to get players the rest they need. Finally, I'll be watching our offensive movement and shot selection. No more 30-foot shots 10 seconds into the shot clock. I'm hoping for better screening and open looks. I'm still holding out hope that this team can turn it around. str8baller Posted January 19 Posted January 19 On the bright side of the road, if we win this one we’re back in tourney projections and our metrics will shoot back up. Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 20 Posted January 20 My defense mechanism kicks in when I’m confirmed we aren’t good and then I can laugh about how bad we are. When we are in the middle, those are the toughest seasons for me because I’m anxious and hopeful. I threw the towel in on these guys already mentally so anything that happens going forward has no impact. Sports fan psychology 101. Hoosier DaDa, Home Jersey and tkbbn 3 Quote

Home Jersey Posted January 20 Posted January 20 When you have greatness, and in the moment, you recognize you have greatness... you appreciate it for all it is and support it 100%. The way I feel about this game confirms to me that IU is a football school and that is a-ok with me. I'll have a blast following their offseason. Any positivity basketball generates is gravy for me moving forward. Muskie plays the four, FortWayneHoosier, Pagoda and 1 other 4 Quote
