Millions well spent I don't act like that at all. I just stated the facts of the matter. That 33% is crazy misleading, though. "In 9 games" Here's his 3 game avg in the Bahamas last year-- 17p 4r 4a vs Louisville, AZ, and Gonzaga. 12-24 from 3 Ultimately, I was pretty confused to see someone take shots at him, but carry on with your energy. How is 33 percent misleading you just said facts matter and that’s a fact. That’s what shot for the season. He made seven figures and was suppose to be the cornerstone and leader of the team this year help establish the culture. Was inconsistent on offense , and got routinely abused on defense didn’t make a single Big Ten media or coaches team. I’ll give him credit he didn’t quit played hard most of time but ultimately was disappointing despite being on of the most experienced players in the entire country and I don’t think he makes WVU a contender in the Big 12 last year or improves there situation all that much after watching 32 games of him in a power conference this year . BBTB Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I still do not understand how they blew off playing in the crown .Even if the seniors did not want to ,it would have helped the others and the bench ,plus its extra NIL money . Every podcaster is saying that its to get a jump on the portal .Hmm as far as I have seen the portal is not open till April 7 and I think all the games are going to be over by then .Some how the football team made it work . First, if the seniors didn't want to do it, good luck fielding a team. Second, if you wait for the portal, you're behind. Need to get to work now and each week as teams exit the Big Dance, more players become available. Football could do it because they were running toward a National Championship -- where players want to play. Going to The Crown doesn't give IU any cred. DChoosier and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote

They were completely jobbed by the NCAA selection committee. Had DeVries assembled a roster similar to the one he did at West Virginia, IU is comfortably dancing this year. It’s a message board man . People have differing opinions and views on things and that’s ok. Love reading responses to my post for or against thought that was the whole point right ? Didn’t know there had to be a community consensus on all topics guess I missed that lol I mean yeah two decent wins in a November tourney and Tucker played well . But that’s in no way an indicator that they would have Big 12 contender over the course of 20 plus games or even been comfortably in the field last year . Robbed or not just like IU this year they were sitting at home this week . I just think people are Taking at face value that we “swung and missed at better assistants” and that why we were “late on the portal” and DDV couldn't build better roster oh ok yeah that’s it . Maybe it is but maybe not. Again not irrational about expectations but it’s never been easier to win 20 games and just make to NCAA tourney at IU I think their was 0 excuses as to why that wasn’t accomplished DDV had more resources and avenues to than any of his predecessors. And trust me the last thing I wanna endure in 1-2 years is another coaching search . Man I’d love to eat crow for all 3 meals next March . Gimme all the hate PMs win or lose I’m not fair weather I’ll watch and discuss regardless . Pagoda, Mopladysman, Uspshoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

There is tampering happening all over the place right now. The portal may not open until early April but a bunch of the work is happening right now. Also, I think the team threw in the towel at the end. Why spend the money to fly them to another location to take another L? I think everyone is basically over this season, players included. JF87 Posted Tuesday at 10:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:51 PM Now that my disappointment on the season has subsided, I've been trying to be more positive about DeVries and our future. I like what I've read about our incoming recruits. I think they are a solid foundation for our future. I'd like for us to add at least one athletic freshman power forward/center in our 2027 class. Glad you can do that. As it stands right now, the only thing I’m optimistic about is Dolson and DeVries NOW know they need to win. Why it took them a year is excuse making in its finest. Besides the pressure to win and build a better roster and execute better, there is very little I’m optomistic about. The returning players, if we have any, are just whatever. The recruits seem like solid long term pieces if they can build at a place like Indiana without getting impatient. Hard to really expect much from any of them year 1. We went after year 1 impact makers but didn’t land any. Moody’s film might translate early but he’s not a Jordan Smith. Or a Deron Rippey where he’s on another level with athleticism. Portal targets and landings will tell us everything we need to know. Quote

Personally I think they should be required to play in a postseason tournament if offered. That said it’s unlikely any of the 7 possible underclassmen return so there isn’t much benefit to it. Quote

On the positive side we were one win away from making the tournament. It sucks we couldn’t beat Northwestern to do it though. skhoosier2 1 Quote

We just need more athleticism and some inside presence under the rim. Hopefully we can get that. Quote

We have no earthly idea if DeVries hired the wrong guy. Let’s circle back to this after 5 years. If there was ever a time for McCollum to make noise it would be now. His two best players in Stirtz and Banks (who have been in his system a long time) are both gone after this year BluegrassHoosier859 1 Quote
