The conversation was about the first 5 games of his first season.  Goodman thought it would be a tremendous turnaround to go 3-2.  Cig had other plans.  :)

Go look at Aidan Fisher's comments about deciding to come to IU.  Cig went thru the schedule with him and told him why they would win each game. 

The point is Cig expects to win every game, period.  Kind of like the old IU basketball days -- winning was expected.  None of this, ebb, flow, and bubble BS.

I worked for UNC while we hired Roy Williams and believe me it even took him a little bit to get settled. It’s just not fair. 
 

I understand that not winning a title since 87 gets us a bit antsy but we have to be patient 

I have zero problem being patient as long as I see a positive trajectory.  First positive move I saw was going to Alexis as a starter.  Next we'll see if Conerway continues to come off the bench and Dorn starts.  Looks like CDD is willing to adapt, which is a good sign.  Got to finish strong, though.

All I want from Coach is making the tourney and build a more solid/complete roster next year.  We lose a lot of pieces from this team

At one time, many months ago, I was actually pissed that we didn't get Xavier Booker.  After watching his college career and missed 3-point attempts, I can say we dodged a bullet.

You guys are acting like it was a few people contained to this thread. The team was quite literally booed off the court at half time of the Iowa game. And they probably deserved it. I honestly don’t remember that ever happening in a coach’s first year before at IU. I actually think if the football team wasn’t on a historic run the media and fan reaction after Iowa would’ve been even worse.  
 

I agree with the poster above who said Devries has shown the willingness to adjust and change on the fly. I never really thought IU was a learn on the job type of place but maybe Devries will be the exception. 25 years of losing and football being awesome seem to have taken the pressure off.

Christ on a cracker! He literally built an entire team,no hyperbole, zero returning players from scratch in a short period of time. Not even Dusty May had to do that. So he did not McGyver together a Ferrari...shocking! 

He has put a competitive product on the floor and they are showing signs of growth, something that is foreign to these parts lately. He also has a few quality guys coming back, 3 top 100 recruits and plenty of time to attack the portal this year, so progress should be evident.

 

That is,if he isn't fired in the next few weeks.

Like can you not read where I literally said this was before the recent stretch.  Which most assuredly did not look like a competitive product.

Glad to see the same exact people that acted holier than though when people criticized Crean, Archie and Woodson are gonna be holier than though again. 

I was high on DeVries but dude basically crapped the bed until 10 days ago.  I’m gonna wait for little more than a good 3 game stretch before I am convinced that’s the real DD and not the 9 months of mediocrity that preceded it.

Nick Dorn is really good at basketball. A nice thing to make a coach look good.
