Right. There. With. You.
Can’t watch actually meaningful games with anyone else. Have been reliably told that I suck to watch games with. Don’t know how people do it in bars.

You still mad at me for spilling my Keystone Light on your bear rug?

Line down to -3. I don’t get it, as Oregon literally lost their best RB and Whittington is game time decision. Despite this and virtual home game for us, the line is trending towards Oregon. Honestly, this worries me a bit. Maybe thinking too much.

Yeah, surprised to see it shift even further down. Opened last week at -4.5

Some fans are asking why the betting line has dropped to IU -3.  Perplexed is the general feeling.  Oregon has some RB issues.  The make small mistakes that really add up.

There is a lot of hype.  Pundits have leaned toward Indiana winning.  What is going on betting wise?

Seems to me that lately we have been hearing that 'no team can withstand that hype...big heads'.  Pundits fill space are going after that storyline.

Oregan fans do not want to see the upstart IU holding the trophy high.  They do not want Coach Cig to say "I just win."

Don't worry about it.  Cheer on the team.

Oregon is falling apart with all of the announced portal transfers and injuries and...we beat them like a rug already this season.  IU does it all!  We just win.

Oregon is already on the ropes.  Beaten.   IU will keep controlling the line and getting to their QB.  No mistakes and we get turnovers.  Big plays are ours, too.  And Oregon sucks inside the red zone.   Any questions?  IU by 21.

Small batch bourbon will be opened in 10 minutes.  Watch the ducks get shredded in the jet engine.  Splatter factor 11.

Never put any stock into betting lines. The game is played on the field.

My best attempt to make you not worry so much! Haha.

A lot of professional betters look for "value".  They wait till a little before kickoff to try to get the best line they can.  If they think Indiana is going to win and believe that people will vote Oregon at the -4.5 to give themselves a Oregon loss at 4 or less points, it will move the line down closer to -3 which the betters who think Indiana will win by more will bet heavy on.  That way, they have an extra point as a cushion.  Now if IU wins by 4, they win money.  A lot of people might think IU is overrated still thinking of the IU of the last several years and not the one that has been shredding teams.  They just let their brain believe what their eyes are seeing.

I just hope we get to play defense first…. We always seem to get the ball first to start the game

I feel like we won all the coin tosses the first half the year and maybe one since.

My guess is, at 4.5, people thinking it was going to be close bet on Oregon, to get more people betting on Indiana they lowered the line to 3 to cover themselves. Also setting it at 3 presents the real possibility of a tie, and it is a push. Maybe the betting is heavily on Oregon +4.5.

It’s been interesting.  Some may not agree but I thought our turnout at ND last year was kinda weak for being in-state.

But now the IU fanbase is mobilized and it’s been better than I hoped.  We actually do have one of the biggest and most passionate fanbases out there… we just needed some games to go to!

Sharp money may be coming in on Oregon to cover. I haven't looked up the stats. That's what you call reverse line movement - when the largest percentage of the number of bets are coming in on one side, but the majority of actual dollars being bet favors the opposite side of the line, in this case causing the spread to move in favor of Oregon.

Basically, big money bettors fading the public opinion/IU.

And basically, some deep and/or dumb pockets are gonna be a little more shallow at the end of the night.
