Banksyrules Posted November 11 Posted November 11 I think we beat Ohio State. I predicted that Iowa and Penn State would be our toughest games. Ohio State is vulnerable to the run and we’re just very balanced on defense and offense. IU by 5. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Ohio State isn’t really vulnerable to anything on defense; they give up like 80 yards a game on the ground. It’s one of the best defenses in college football this year and probably in the last 10. Assuming we play them in Indy, we’ll need our best game of the year. HoosierX, go iu bb, skhoosier2 and 5 others 8 Quote

With a break from the Football Gods sprinkled in here or there as well. It'll be hands down the toughest opponent (including CFP opponents) IUFB will play the entire year. They're the real deal. The silver lining though, our D isn't too bad either. If healthy, Ponds will neutralize weapons they're used to using. ALASKA HOOSIER, Banksyrules and J34 3 Quote

Magnanimous Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Get Fernando two more 85% completion games with 5 TDs each against Wisconsin and Purdue and this should be put to bed. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

I think while their players are studs there’s chinks that our coaching staff will expose. Not a knock on Ohio State I just think if we are healthy we can and will beat them. Felt this way about Oregon as well ( not the same quality but many thought they’d beat us). I was more afraid of Iowa because Iowa is a specific team that neutralizes our specific strengths ( excellent fundamentals). Penn State scared me most because I felt they had a combination of power/ athleticism/ and more depth on defense than anyone in the big ten. I don’t know. I’m not as scared that’s all. just my opinion. That’s all it is J34 and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

I didn’t mean to infer the winning team would also get the Heisman but rather that the BT. Championship game is a contest played in front of a ton of eyeballs showcasing how each of the two QB played against the competition provided by the #1 and #2 teams. A great performance in such a high profile game could/will influence at least a few voters. Fernando could help his case by playing great in a close loss and the same goes for Sayin (and both will have to overcome the SEC auto-votes for Simpson). ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Probably so. But I think there are other voters who would choose Mendoza because it's a cool story versus giving it to someone like Sayin that benefits from having a dominant supporting cast. rayl456 1 Quote

I sadly agree on all points. OSU's defense is the single best unit (offense or defense) in the nation this season. Likely for the last few years. Their offense is just good, but that D is great. I know it's fun to harass them about Michigan owning them, but the Wolverine offense is dog-crap. No way they pull it out this year. For IU to win they'll have to play better than they did against Iowa, Oregon and definitely Penn St. rcbowla, RoadRage and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
