Sorry, if I could explain… wasn’t coming at you if it felt like that.

Was just trying to share that it might be better to go with what he would like to be called rather than people on a message board coming up with something.

Think Ryno just meant like what acronym people will use to refer to him on the board…

I think CDDv works for me

Personally I think I’ll just be going with the double Ds. So enjoy that for hopefully the next 20 odd years lol

I have no idea who this guy is, but he’s really good and I like this a lot.. The only thing I would quibble with, and he’d have no reason to know since he’s as not invested as we are, but since DeVries made it clear in the presser that Dolson was communicating during the season I doubt there were many guys at all that Scott would have burned through before landing on DeVries. Stevens and Drew, sure, probably Otzelberger, but I sort of think DeVries was the next name and if he expressed real interest anybody else subsequently was a contingency. I know we had pages and pages of “Scott loves McCollum” stuff, but I would think if that were really, really a thing he would have waited a week. He had the time to do that. I really think once you eliminate the no hopers this was his Guy.

I think we found out through back channels before the season started that Drew and Otz were not interested. That’s why the list was so short.

Just has this feeling of the timing was right. That's been an issue for IU since RMK was fired. The timing is always off when it comes to hiring a coach. Could it just be that THIS time the timing is spot on? I think we're all hoping so much that finally IU got it right!

Watched the Parrish video.  Some good stuff.  Interesting comp of Lane Kiffen going to USC after 1 year at Tenn.  Hopefully this goes better than that situation.

Luckily Tennessee football and WV basketball aren’t really comparable. And USC football was in a completely different position at that time than IUBB is now. Also he was quite a bit younger and had already flamed out in the NfL. Pretty awful comparison honestly.

It just feels different this time doesn’t it.
It sure does. It's weird too, because, at the very least, it feels like CDV will bring us back to the basics with regard to the fundamentals of the game. It's almost like the past 2-3 coaches made the game and the job too complicated...

I thought Archie would be good, but him looking like he’d seen a ghost from the jump should have been a sign. I always questioned Crean due to DWade. Obvious he was a good talent evaluator, but how much can be drawn from a final four with a guy who had a top-20 all time NBA player on his roster. Woody I hated from the jump but tried to see the positives.

This feels completely different. He’s a coach, a recruiter, and someone who embraces NIL. I also like that he pointed out we and he respected his current team. Also Iowa and WV people are melting down over it, so that’s a bonus.

Gee, it's almost like nailing down the fundamentals = winning basketball.

Seems we once had a coach that preached that...

Definitely.  I also probably underestimated the work Stephen Harper did in regards to analytics.   Dolson highlighted it today and it’s probably easy to look over.  If the analytics were off the chart, then this could very well be a grand slam!

i also understand analytics aren’t everything.

anyway, it definitely feels different than Archie and Woodson.
