Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 12, 2025 Author Posted February 12, 2025 Was the game plan all Woody's doing or do we think he's washed his hands on the season and it was the assistant coaches who put it together? BannerVille 1 Quote
HoosierCoop Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 The Zone??? It didn't look like anyone had to really labor on defense to prevent 3pt off of screens. It slowed penetration and really kept the guards from being a threat. Our hands and deflections were more active as well. Crean would've been pleased! Keep bringing the zone if it works. But got a text from a friend saying, “Woodson’s not the only 1 who should be retiring. Worst coaching job of Izzo’s career.” Quite the teaser. Izzo was literally crying -- I mean there were tears! (Which made me smile.) That guy is a complete wackjob, whinny little jackamole. Another prime example of all overlooked when winning. Can't wait until he retires. Btw, isn't it crazy when your daughter(s) turn 21? Mine turned 21 this year as well -- Quote

Someone always has “the scout” so I think it’s close to business as usual. Looked like it was Kenya last night based on bench interactions. We’re all done with Woody, but to me it still looks like he’s pretty locked in at least for the 40 minutes. Quote

Crean was definitely clapping somewhere with all those deflections. The guys looked very quick last night at closing the gaps in the zone. Creans only disappointment maybe that we didn’t switch from 3-2, to 2-3, to man, to 1-3-1, to box and one all in the same possession. johnsoniu, WayneFleekHoosier, HoosierCoop and 2 others 4 1 Quote
go iu bb Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 Nice win. I didn't expect it so it was a nice surprise. I'm glad Izzo didn't get the satisfaction of passing Knight by beating IU. tkbbn, WeeDerkaNaut, pumpfake and 1 other 4 Quote
pumpfake Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 I only caught the last few minutes of the game and was shocked that we were winning and had played zone. About time we mixed things up a bit. I have to wonder a) was msu caught off guard by our defense, and b) how effective it could be in upcoming games with teams that prepare for it and have capable 3-pt shooters. Quote

He still needs to listen to the scout. We have been better since Illinois but too deep of a hole and better does not equal good as we should be. Credit though to the team and coaches for a big win on the road against a strong team. I kind of wish i would have been interested enough to watch it Quote

It would be very interesting to tally our record based on which assistant had the scout. Hornsby Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 Just think if we pulled out 3 of the Northwestern, Maryland, Purdue, and Michigan games. Yep life is what if's. And just think if ohio state hit the shot at the end that would have been a loss Just think if boozer had not missed the shot at the end of the game after the fife foul on the three pointer.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk Quote
