Woody seriously thinks we are still in the NBA. In the NBA, a timeout there gets you to advance the ball to half court. In college The move is to inbound the ball as far up the court as you can and then immediately call a timeout. Then you do two things : 

 

1) you eliminate their ability to foul because it is purely catch and shoot situation, and 

2) you increase your odds of a successful play by about a 1000%. 
 

What a coaching crapfest at the end.

That’s a foul mins 1-39. Just not at the end. Dumb to settle for that shot.

I agree with this. Turn the corner and get to the rim. But it’s still a foul. You make contact on the elbow during the shot it’s a foul, everytime. Elbow way worse impact than hand.

I may be against the grain here, but I don’t think it was selfish at all. There were five seconds left and Rice is an athletic guard who can score and who is 85% from the line. He went after the bucket and tried to get downhill. It was really good defense.

That is what he said and it is exactly the type of unbiased announcing I expect from Robbie.

I never said that he suggested that Goode should be called for a foul. It is just one of many examples of Robbie being a homer and not seeing things objectively.

Foul or not, that was not the shot! What had he done that worked all night? He was only in the game because Leal fouled out. He has to have the self-awareness to create for someone else. It’s utter selfishness and it’s that “me-first” attitude that has loomed over Bloomington. Get it out!

No contact on the arms.

Harris is straight up and doesn’t slap down. Rice’s momentum takes Rice’s body into Harris after the shot is released.

I agree -- wasn't selfish. Just foolish. 

He had been on the bench for 18-plus minutes and we had hot hands in Gallo and Bako. There was plenty of time left ... and on a final possession like that, I wanna see at least one pass. Not one guy just taking the ball upcourt and launching.

I understand where you’re coming from, but he immediately sprinted wide and drove fast as he often does when he’s looking to score. He hadn’t to that point, so he shouldn’t have been allowed. That’s coaching, or lack thereof. I would have liked to have seen a true last second shot that had some play development instead of that.
