Gtfo Mgbako.

Probably my least favorite player in 41 years of being a diehard IU fan as a student and alumni.

I’d rather have Bud Mackey on the coaching staff than Mgbako on scholarship.

Not to beat a dead horse, but what was the Mack rumor?  I was tracking Taco Bell, but were there other infractions?

The beautiful thing about this is we finally have a coach that knows what he wants. If it’s someone that he doesn’t feel is a fit, then we’ll move on, and I’ll trust it. Frankly, I wouldn’t object if we had a majority roster turnover. We need to start building a strong culture.

I’m the same. The Taco Bell incident is all I’m aware of. That’s not something to kick a kid off the team for immediately imo. That’s an immature learning opportunity.

Why?

Again, those are the poor decisions we've made.

Tre Singleton is a flat out stud. Did you Briscoes lines yesterday?

Both play for state titles this coming Saturday.

Have never watched Singleton except clips. His skill level is clearly there but he looks a little landlocked. Do you think his defense plays or does he get hunted in P n R?

Not to beat an already dead horse and trying to find that “ship that has sailed”,…… Wouldn’t DeVries try to kick the tires and reach out to Mullins? Why not?

Fully expect some kind of contact with the family has/was made purely to let the family know IU is still interested.  But, I have no illusions that Mullins will change his mind this year.  Maybe next year at this time.

Piece to puzzle, imo. One of my best friends lives in that area and runs AAU tourneys in southern indiana, he thinks TS is just scratching the surface.

PnR I think would be a straight switch with Singleton.

I hear what you're saying, Stu... and you had me all the way up to Bud Mackey... that's a pretty tough choice...

If the Mgbako story is really true, he should have been kicked off the team immediately... there's no place for that crap.

What was the rumor?  (Sorry think I am in the dark on this one).

Nevermind, saw Stuhoo's offer up above.

There was another alleged incident with Mgbako. Because it did not become public I won’t discuss it on the open board. People can PM me if they want.

You mean more than Taco Mgbako and Ballo at the Bellagio?  Whadyaknow? Whoa...

(Actually, it is none of my business...and I do not want to know.  Turns page.)

Also.. while I want Tre Singleton, the idea of a Jeffersonville kid is the most enticing.

Like know what you have in your own backyard, first.

I'm not a D1 coach, I don't have worlds of background evaluating talent... projecting kids.... but it's sickening to not have Aaron Henrys, Bryant McIntoshs on our team.

60%+ of our roster should be made up of kids that live within 150 miles of our campus. Purdue has proven that's a great model and we could supplement with better top end talent from other places/vet portal pieces.

Quick Mbako story. I took my oldest two kids to the game at the Palestra this season. We had a few hours to kill before our train so hung around in the gym afterwards and were able to work our way down onto the court while the players were coming out postgame.

My kids got pics with every player, except I think Carlyle. The guys were so nice, all smiled, said hi and took pics with them.

This is a small thing, but I think still shows hos character. We get over to Mbako and he agrees to take a pic with my son, but refuses to actually look at the camera.

I was waiting to take the pic an awkward amount of seconds and saying, "ok ready?", until I realized he wasn't going to look.

We have all these pics of kids with each players where they're all smiling and engaging, and them this random pic with Mbako where he's refusing to look.

Again a small thing, but to me it showed his character.

You were of no value to him.

I guess I need to know all the true details, but this is a STRONG take. I’m assuming you trust your sources on this one? I mean, geez.

Completely agree, especially on the not IU part. He's just not a winning basketball player.

Ding ding ding.
He's not conducive, at this point, to team success. This was clearly evident the second half of the year when we started winning games/making runs with his @$$ on the bench. Numerous games he didn’t play the last 5-6 minutes.

Hate to pile on (who am I kidding, no I don’t) but I question how motivated he is to improve his own game. Guy thought he’d be a one-and-done and has improved NOTHING in two years.
A kid with his stroke shouldn’t be a 32% 3 point shooter with still ZERO handle.
