Yes ... people really happy about the additions of Ballo, Tucker, Rice, Carlyle, and likely Goode. That's not sunshine pumping; that's acknowledging that those are good additions.

I think there's a difference between what should be expected and what is expected. The talent on this roster certainly merits high expectations on its own. However,  there are other factors that can and do lower the expectations for some.

Most who are "optimistic" are simply enjoying the roster overhaul. Of course there are a few extreme pumpers and extreme dumpers on both ends of the spectrum.

I have seen a large majority excited about the additions, but guarded about what it means for next year (me included). Not sure what else you are looking for at this point.

That's all I am commenting on -- tempering the optimism.  It's great we have new guys, new roster, etc. etc.  But my fear is the new boss is the same as the old boss.  I have been on here saying -- show me, first.  That's all.  Some of you all are insane.

Yeah there will need to be some good leadership this offseason by the guys returning to help get the new guys up to speed. Atlantis early in the season will let us know where the team is at.

Then what was the fkg point of spending $6 mil.  Just to be mediocre?  

Those are my expectations every year -- I expect to be the best.  Not the dumpster fire we have been.  Mike Woodson himself said "compete for championships."  Well, we're waiting.  Reality is we'll be middle of the pack again, first weekend exit.

Not sure why it's your job to temper anything? As far as the "joke if you will", you're making the same snide remarks in every thread, about every other post, gets very old. Go to the Complain here or Fire Woodson thread and kvetch to your heart's content. It's really difficult to keep any positive attitudes when people feel it's their responsibility to bring them down

It's just trying to shove it down other's throats, in EVERY thread, EVERY day, that's gotten a little overboard. I feel like there are two-three threads flat-out dedicated to taking sh*ts on Woodson, staff, and whoever else to suffice some on here's constant need to poop on things. Just do your pooping there, mercy, is that all that hard of an ask?

Your comment said nothing about winning the offseason, only suggested that we may be "locked out" of in-state recruiting (at a time when we are involved with multiple in-state prospects). People are tired of digs from fellow fans and that goes both ways, not sure why you're surprised your joke did not land. Nobody wants to get flak for rooting for their team, whatever that looks like to them. Virtually all of us feel the same way you do (show me first) yet do not feel the need to reduce every conversation to "bUt MiKe WoOdSoN" 

There is a thread for tempering optimism or even downright negativity, not this one though. 

Stuhoo has already unpacked how you're "misreading the room" with your "tempering optimism" ... but yeah, some of all the other posters are the insane ones (just like some of all the college professors ;)
