He's a tough kid former HS QB, great shooter, can guard some and he wants to be here. He's a team guy plus has played in some big games. I liked that he's played on a high major. Illinois has had some good teams the last 3 years. Chris007, MemphisHoosier, thebigweave and 1 other 4 Quote
Unexpectedflash Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 Seen a lot of illinois fans say he's a bad starter but an amazing complementary piece off the bench and are sad to see him go cybergates, Hoosierfanyuh, Stuhoo and 2 others 4 1 Quote

Gallo/Goode/Tucker/MM would be a very long and lengthy group at the 1-4 spot all on the court at the same time lillurk, Hoosierfanyuh and thebigweave 3 Quote

Unexpectedflash Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 Underrated aspect of Goode is he's a great offensive rebounder from the wing which is something we had very little of last year lillurk and Jeff Flabjohns 2 Quote

Bascially Luke Goode is similar to Miller Kopp in the position he would play. He's a 3 but can be pushed into a 4 based on matchup. You aren't going to play him as a 4 if the other team is playing a traditional 4 but you can play him at the 4 in a small ball lineup. Illinois to Indiana would be a pretty lateral move in terms of playing time and fit IMO as well as NIL so if he likes his role at Illinois but wants to be closer to family it would make sense. If he is looking for increased court time, not so much. CSP, Hoosierfanyuh, Stuhoo and 3 others 6 Quote
Bowhunter Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 Do you think he comes here and wants to come off bench instead of going to a school like Notre Dame and starting ? Quote

That's the $200,000 question. As in, would he rather come off the bench for IU and make an extra 200K or start at Notre Dame? ND isn't exactly NIL central in terms of bball money. thebigweave and lillurk 2 Quote

Therefore, it seems to me that the most attainable quality piece would currently be a stretch big, or for that matter any big. We still have an easily envisioned role for a player that has those skills. We had a big role player and he went packing -- either voluntarily or un voluntarily. Those spots are going to be difficult to fill because these days nobody is "forced" to stay put and develop. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy -- the talent level decreases, so the minutes decrease, so the player leaves. Hardwood83 1 Quote

Already had that high min. bench role, which probably isn't available. I think he'd be looking for a starting role somewhere. Bowhunter 1 Quote
