Carlyle shot 32% from 3 and avg more TOs than assists. We already have players that do that...lol.

You assumed the FR, who was out with an injury until Mid-December, playing on the 2nd worst team in the P12 would have gawdy stats?

You don't think 32%, as a FR PG, is a solid or more than a solid percentage? Man do I have some stats for you to see.

He wasn't out due to injuries by what reporters had said.  He was out due to academic issues.  The jump from Overtime Elite Academy online classes to Stanford is a pretty huge one.

I am not an expert talent evaluator so this should be taken with a whole container of salt but I think Amari Williams is just about as good of a big-man addition as IU could hope for.

Pros

-Outstanding defender with good instincts, movement, strength and shot-blocking

-Good size at 6'10" with plus-length and a body that should be able to handle the Big Ten

-Not an elite rebounder but certainly above-average

-Very good passer

-Capable ball handler that can "grab and go" off of rebounds, blocked shots or steals

-Runs the floor well and finishes around the rim

-Consistently stays out of foul trouble

Cons

-Has not shown the ability to score consistently outside of the paint

This could be a pro or a con depending on your outlook: he's not a guy that appears to want or need the ball thrown to him for post-ups.

I would say two things here (and I'm not in the Williams camp just because I don't think that's a fit with he and Reneau):

1.  On your pros, you say is an above average but not elite rebounder -- he is actually an elite rebounder.  8.8 boards/game in about 23 minutes, rebound rate was top 40 in the national on one end and top 70 on the other.

2.   On your cons, you say he doesn't appear or want the ball thrown to him for post ups, which I would strongly disagree with.

You are correct, Williams is an elite or near-elite rebounder. I worded that poorly. On your second point, I don't think he's a strong back to the basket post player and in the multiple games I watched of Drexel and then Williams' highlights, I didn't see the Dragons consistently throwing the ball to him in the post for him to work. It was more pick and roll lobs, drop offs as guards penetrate and then put backs. That's just my opinion though, you may very well be correct.

Finally, someone who agrees with me about Reneau.  He’s not a center or at least the type of center that is a rim protector and he’s not a stretch 4.  Also, he’s a black hole offensively who makes really dumb decisions with the ball.  Yes he does well finishing at the rim when he finally fights his way through a triple team to put up a shot.  Reneau is a problem offensively and defensively but MW is the biggest problem.

He's absolutely not a problem offensively. He's a post player, and a really good one. He draws consistent double teams. He does force it sometimes, but he also had the second highest assist rate on the team. Put spacing and shooting around him and he'll be a monster.

Defensively he's a tweener, yes. I don't think that's an unsolvable issue.

Amazing ability to be in the final four and still be able to go portaling.  I’m convinced Woodson had golf outings planned the week after the big 10 tournament.

The way we played, looked like he was out golfing before the Nebraska game.

I still think he’s a black hole. Looks to try and score first but only passes it back out when he gets double teamed and that isn’t all of the time.

He definitely is (currently) a bit of a black hole. Definitely frustrating to watch. However, TJD became a much better passer his last year and I am hopeful MR can improve as well.
