I think it’s probably because every guard that is reported in the portal IU name is listed but a BIG goes in and we don’t seem to be listed. Can’t blame anyone for being a little skeptical given their portal picks last season in that position. CDD has acknowledged he made mistakes. Hopefully they are in on guys we haven’t heard about yet or are making some overseas connections.

Yes this is me for sure. We just haven’t seen our name out there for many and I think that’s where the worry comes in given we ended up with Bailey and Alexis (who battled his @ss off) last season. Gotta hope Carr knows what we need and is getting us hooked in to some others we haven’t heard about yet.

I mean I get what he’s saying, but we’ve been linked in one way or another to 4 or 5 of the top 10 bigs in the portal. We’ve also been linked to Allenspach and ND Okafor.

The thing that gets me excited about the 4 confirmed to visit is if we do get all 4, that’s a HR start and now you’re talking competing for top 4-5 in the B1G

Some are already off the board. I see your point too. I think we all know what is needed and just hope it’s being delivered. The waiting is hard lol we are all just anxious to have something good to celebrate from portal season.

Rabby is feeling good about Burton, Harris, and Mustaf. Sherrill is still a fight.

If coach wants certain kids and he reels them in, that means something positive about him, IU's NIL, etc. 

That said, I'm not very interested in Harris. There have been too many highly regarded high schoolers who committed to Duke, didn't see the floor, transferred, and proved at other schools why they didn't earn time at Duke. 

Wouldn't mind Harris as someone vying for time on with wing with other, more proven talent. He just hasn't done enough to make me think he should be considered a great recruiting win and penciled in as a starter next year.

Maybe DeVries is selling Sherrell on the 4 with Reibe at the 5? If that’s how the first 5 in the class go, sign me up. Sure there’s contingency plans in place and DeVries will upgrade anyways even if they only get 2-3. He went after it when we needed to see it.

Sherrill already sees himself as a 4 from what we have been hearing.  Really doubt IU could afford Burton, Mustaf, Harris, Sherrell and Reibe.  It's probably already getting stretched to get the first four.

Likely that if IU is getting Burton and Sherrell they can’t also afford Reibe, especially if the other schools bidding on Reibe are UK and BYU.

Double watch it, you'll see a guy who struggles to defend, blockout, and make layups against the bench of an NAIA school. DeVries should earn the Naismith Award if Acimovic deserves to be in the rotation.
