1.  He strongly considered Purdue before choosing Miami.....you don't even put Purdue in the conversation if it's about chasing the bag.

2.  Nothing wrong with chasing the bag as long as you play on court.  Kid was an integral part of a final four team already.

FWIW, the rumor on Pack wasn't just that he was coming home.  Trilly had hinted very strongly about a player that wanted to come to Indiana this year regardless if Woodson was the coach or not and it seemed obvious he was referring to Pack.

I wonder if Iowa promised him he would start and IU said he would most likely be a reserve or have to earn the start? I also am curious everyone’s thoughts on Pack? I know zero about him or his motor.

Yeah, I think that is the case, or Iowa made a big offer, and we said no to matching but that brings me back to thinking we must feel like we can pull someone else.

He chose Miami because they offered him $800k and a Bentley while Purdue offered him a chance to start.

Nijel Pack is the OG bag chaser. And not that there is anything wrong with that, but his NIL deal was one of the first widely publicized deals in this new era.

He's a good individual player, but that Miami team went to **** once most of their core left after the F4 year.

Pack’s performance against HOU in the S16 is alone worth what he got that year. Dropped 7 threes

Guy shoots 40% from 3 for his career, 80% from the line. Would love to have him but that’d probably be at the expense of either Conwell or Dix.

This moment has to be so tricky.  We are explaining to targets what their roles and fit within the team would be, but right now we only have two players (Tucker D. and Sisley).  CDD has convince targets what our likely roster will look like and work from that -- not easy.

I suspect CDD knows several very likely commits and who our top 5-6 guys will probably be.  But still... not an easy spot to be in.  Hopefully we can get some commits here, establish the core of the team, and then get some more dominoes to fall.  Nerve-racking.

Yep, we need that first domino to fall.  Hopefully that's Conwell before he leaves campus.

Who said there was an issue? You said he wasn't chasing a bag because he was considering Purdue.

My hope for an athletic, good ball handling PG that can hit Free Throws looks more encouraging today than yesterday.   I'm mixed on Pack, don't know that I love it with Conwell and Dix if we can pull them.  

 

I like Jakobi Gillespie best of the PG's so far, I think.  Need to revisit.
