IMHO the right perspective on Enright is: there’s basically no chance to get a better backup PG.

He’ll probably play >20 minutes some nights. He’ll probably play 8 others. He might get some starts, though I really doubt he’s earmarked as the guy to start 30 games. It’ll be fine.

And that's where I'm at. If he's the worst player you add this portal season, you're in great shape. But he's a reliable piece whom I believe DeVries trust and will be on the floor more times than not. Cannot have 5 players on the floor at once whose mentality is to shoot the ball every time they touch it.

And that's a great comparison. ML also was "successful" in college, a great career, but...the teams he was on weren't top level, at all.

Low major.  There is a difference between taking from the historical mid major route than say Texas State.  However over the years that has changed.  Butler would still call a mid major as they don’t have the budget to compete with the power conferences.  Most Big East schools I would as well.  This has changed with the SMU, Houston and Cincy of the world joining bigger conferences.

But you ignore all the deficiencies.  Its not all about scoring and we all know that.  If you are building a team and the guy who plays the position to handle the ball the most isn't a good free throw shooter, that's a problem.  He also isn't a good 3 point shooter so the added element of spacing isn't added.  He also isn't explosive enough to beat his man to create more off ball advantages.  That's a problem.  Defensively? It's debatable.  He hasn't had to guard the level of guy he will face in the B1G or eventually the SEC.  He's scrappy and energetic.  Team guy.  All good stuff.  If he is in the 8 man rotation, I'm concerned.  If he is 10-13 I don't care.  The projectables just aren't there.  20 minutes a game is wild to me.

Level comp matters, yes. Fit more. 

The guard transfer from ENST, Peterson.. is 85%+ in spot opps, for example... wasn't nearly as effective off the bounce. 

If you could couple him with Enright for stretches, and while those two would be small, would play really well offensively together.

This is straight off of Google.  Enright is about the size of Yogi, and I believe he was fine in the Big 10.  He will be fine as a backup/occasional starter who is familiar with CDV's culture he wants to set.  He would be perfectly fine for us.

Ingest with a grain or ten of salt because admittedly I have not yet viewed any film of Enright, but Yogi was a phenomenal athlete which made up for his 6 foot frame.

Being a senior, I am sure that Enright will be fine and will know what he is getting into at the high major level.

Right? I literally laughed out loud when I read the comparison to Yogi. 

There are a lot of players who are Yogi's size, but there are very few players who have the same combination of skill and athleticism that he had. Also, Yogi was very strong for his size as well.

Enright is career 37% from 3 (39.5% under DeVries) and 67% FT (70% under DeVries). The 3pt% is good for high volume, the FT% is average. I think worry about that part of his game is misplaced.

For the record, I don't really care about his size rather showing his measurables are adequate for this level of play despite one poster being adamant that he's undersized.
