It's only six extra weeks to wait if that doesn't happen.

I'd very much prefer a 40 point IU win because Woody is gone at the end of the season anyway.

Well I hope you are still correct because a 40 point win at Turdue could sure as heck pollute the outlook!

....can you imagine the fanfare IF Brad, in fact. does decide to come be the next coach at IU?  I'm just sitting here trying to image the reception he and his family would get?!? I just hope and pray that this path FINALLY comes to fruition!....

GO IU!

Purdue would have to start wearing brown shorts.

Zero chance of Michael Lewis.

But for a 'lose the press conference' choice that would be a solid coach? I could see Brad Brownell getting consideration.

I wish we would have hired Brownell instead of Woody.

Cliff Marshall lol

I looked it up, Anderson ended up shooting around 32% from 3 in college. He got better after leaving IU but not particularly good.

There's probably lower odds of that then of me getting a date with newly single Jessica Alba.

And my odds are exactly 0.0%.

Brownell is an interesting case.  His name has been mentioned in previous years given his Indiana ties, but the resume wasn’t there.  Last year’s E8 run and a senior led team this year that has the look of another NCAA run. Overall he has done well at a school that is tough to recruit to in that league and is well respected among peers.

If Dolson is speaking with Stevens, I could see BS advocating for BB, as they are both former DePauw players and seemingly have similar basketball philosophies.

I could see IU “settling” on BB after another run at BS and maybe Pearl, as his agent leverages us for a new facility and/or Steven named as coach in waiting.

Funny thing is I am not sure it is a given that BB would take it.  Have a family friend that was a Sigma Chi with him at DePauw and is part of a group that visits him every year at Clemson.  He has a pretty good set up there and maybe doesn’t want the fish bowl.  I don’t know that to be a fact tho.  Def wouldn’t win the presser but I do think he could be very good at IU, maybe not elite.

And look for Marty Simmons to make his long awaited (haha) return to Bloomington, if BB were to be hired.

Seriously. We talk about sure fire winners like Pearle, Stevens, Bears etc and then up and comers that could be homeruns but also very risky.

hoiberg would win at IU. I’m not sure what his ceiling is but I have little doubt he would make us competitive in the bigten every year

I have no issues with Fred.  But he would be way down on my list.

It’s not a sexy hire. It’s a solid hire. I think the program would be in good hands with him and he has proven he can build. He did it at Iowa State and he’s doing it at Nebraska. Each team slowly got better and better and if he at 52 can come here for 18 years then I think his final 15 here would be real fun to watch

Hoiberg would definitely be high on my list if the big dogs say no.  He would be a big upgrade over the last 2 coaches.

everyone hanging their hat on Stevens assuming he is the big dog.  Will it happen?  Maybe, he is still young at 48.  He may wait until hes 55 to take the IU job and we'll still be here 7 years from now saying Stevens is COMING!
