Hate emails were sent because of political and religious beliefs. The story hasn't been embellished. I'm just not going to share all the details on here publicly.

So I agree that Woodson and staff seemed a little extra pumped to come out with the win against Ohio State. Almost like a “yes! We get to live another day!” type of reaction. I wonder if that is indeed the case. Like someone said, I wonder if they were told if you keep winning you can keep staying but if not and it’s bad then you’re done. Would a bad Northwestern loss prevent him from being the coach at home against Maryland and then the rest of the season? I’m anxious to find out. I know we’ve gone down this road before talking about some people still think he’ll get to finish the season while others still think he won’t be coaching the next home game. I think their reaction to escaping the Ohio State game makes their fate kinda interesting if there really is something to that.

I totally get why the record doesn't tell the full story, but it would be VERY out of character to fire a HC (especially one who is a program legend) under those circumstances. And I also don't think the prospect of fans merely chanting to fire him is really as big a deal as some here believe.

My best guess is that Dolson was getting a contingency in place, but at this point it would take a 3 or 4 game losing streak, with a couple more blowouts, to make a move.

This is exactly correct. No way you make a change during the season with that record. They need the "failed to make the tourney for the second straight season".

in no way does that happen without an immediate move. If that happened and an immediate move wasn’t made that is child’s play. Never in my career have I seen something like that. You don’t let subordinates know a boss is being let go unless you do it a minute after informing them.

I know that can't be accurate. I don't know anyone under the age of 25 who has ever sent an email. Texts perhaps?

Lol… I have three college aged kids and they all send plenty of emails. Not for social interactions though. So if someone isn’t a friend on Insta or Snap and you don’t have their cell for a text that’s how a young can reach out.
