Popular Post 68Hoosier Posted December 16, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 16, 2024 So, I had the pleasure of going to a home game this year and was seated in the 76-club area. Very nice by the way. While there I talked with a former player on many topics. One being the current coach. Not good.... He confirmed that he is protected by the Board (Buckner and one or two others) and that if you go against him (Woodson), you are out. Fife and Matta were in place before Woodson was hired, and he did not like that at all and you see where they ended up. Looking back, I don' t remember who was in place before whom but I thought Woodson was announced before Fife or Matta so assumed he hired them. He also confirmed that Dolson had a different path, and it was shot down. He did not say who that was but said it was a homerun. He mentioned that Dusty May is not off the table once Buckner is out. Said the buyout is low on purpose. Other former players are no longer welcome around the team (see Brian Evans comments). I was really in shock with all he shared with me. How can the IU program allow this to happen? How can the boosters allow this. The program has to be bigger than one or two people. So sad. Take it for what it's worth. Which may not be much lol. You’re in the middle of a thread titled “Fire Mike Woodson”, ask not to have character assassinations . . . But THIS ^^^^^ has you up in arms? I can only imagine the angst if he’d stolen cookies from your cookie jar . . . Why are you really in this thread? You’re now trying to be the forum police? C’mon - you’re better than this. Chris007 1

In Fife and Matta, I thought it was more that Dolson hired them to help Woodson, but Woodson didn't hire them. I didn't think they were in place before Woeful Woodson was.

Apparently he's not. It's not new behavior... he's here to beat the Woodson for King drum, and is ceremoniously unavailable to watch when Woodson craps the bed with his coaching prowess... Quinn Buckner's actions may not be criminal in terms of legal statutes, but it's hard to argue they haven't been - minimally - a MASSIVE conflict of interest, ethically. There will be no legal repercussions, but we certainly don't need to glorify them as legends of the program. Their accomplishments as players 40+ years ago are completely undermined / discredited by their conduct in the present day. J34, hper50, Hoosierfan2017 and 4 others 6 1

There is a reason they call him the king of indiana. This is the 1976 grey haired boys club. They feel he is owed this and the boosters know they must pay up for access. There is a reason the only assistants around the king stink. Try are all yes men who never ever question the king. This is by far the worst hire iu ever made but the old boys club doesn't care. It's all about old stories and having one of their own. Woodson has divided not only fans but former players as well. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk tkbbn 1
