Popular Post Pagoda Posted December 2, 2024 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2024 "Stakeholders" is a disappointing term to see pop up. I've read this board for awhile, but I can't recall if Cathy is verified as the actual Cathy or not. The bball coach and bball results should be the responsibility of the AD. Period. Don't like the results? Change the AD. This is basic management 101. Instead of letting the AD do their job, IU has "stakeholders," which is code for people who don't know what they're doing getting involved. We've had this issue for a long time: 1) The search committee that hired Davis without interviewing anyone else. 2) Herbert and trustees pushed and got Kelvin. 3) Quinn pushed and got Woody, and he and donors are keeping him around. This approach does not work well in any organization, including IU. Our best shot is letting Scott do his job and supporting him. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if that will happen. 8bucks, str8baller, AKHoosier and 13 others 16

He’ll watch it unfold, he’ll evaluate, he’ll decide. And it will all occur in consultation with others. His voice has considerable weight, but it’s not the only voice that matters. It never has been for him or any of his predecessors. And this is why IUBB has struggled for 25 years. Hoosierfan2017, HoosierTrav, Crimson and Cream and 14 others 17
bird4par Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Mike " Bigfoot" Woodson, all the high school & aau coaches have heard about Mike Woodson, they just never see Mike Woodson. LMFAO MikeRoberts, Deserthoozier, Hoosier DaDa and 1 other 3 1
jefftheref Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I guess the positive thing is that losing games will be the only way that we get rid of the incompetence, and trust me we are going to lose a lot this season. Woodson is a garbage coach, we have an incompetent staff and we bought the worst talent money could buy. If it takes getting our butt's beat the majority of this year to get rid of him, then I say it is worth it. Another mediocre year and Mediocre Mike gets another year. We get stomped on like I think we will and we can get a fresh start with someone. Woodson makes Tom Allen look like Vince Lombardi. MikeRoberts, Home Jersey and choosierred1 3

And they failed MISERABLY. 28 point loss to a brand new Louisville team. 16 point loss to Gonzaga. It's not like the games went down to the buzzer and we lost by 3. They flat out were not competitive. It's a giant warning sign that IU basketball is on the brink of disaster. I can promise you Dolson doesn’t share your view that they’re on the brink of disaster, or that a job change in early December is merited. You may disagree with his view, but no one at IU sees it as you do.
Hoosierfan2017 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 The administration signaled how little it cares about winning basketball games when it hired Mike Woodson in 2021, and it confirmed its stance again when it brought Mike Woodson back for this season. Anyone expecting positive change is setting themselves up for disappointment. thebigweave, Home Jersey, Deserthoozier and 3 others 6
SlammySammy Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 If what KathywithaC says is in fact true, we are doomed....I am back to believing the administration is fine with mediocrity and have no interest in remaining a basketball program that has potential to win championships...participation trophy administration....Good luck when the fanbase stops buying tickets and more importantly IU merch. jumpshot53 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I do find Cathy's posts entertaining. I do appreciate her habit of saying "I'll talk more later" as she continues to keep posting as people ask questions. Sorry, but I doubt that anyone with real close ties to Dolson would be wasting their time explaining to the commoners what our AD is thinking. Sorry Cathy, but you are entertaining. If the "stakeholders" don't know what's going on with our team, they must not have any social media, newspapers, podcasts, tv or radio. They must not leave their homes or talk to people. They obviously haven't watched good basketball to see how different they play from our team. I'm not sure I want to listen to anyone that would align themselves with people that clueless. But then, how dumb am I? I keep watching hoping for a miracle, or at least hoping to see a well played game. Sucks! str8baller, Mopladysman, IU Prof and 2 others 4 1

In the words of the great Tom Crean, “you wrecked our program!” * Also just a heads up, anyone able to listen to the podcast, it starts with Brian Evans and talking about the program at the 30:45 mark. They go on and on for a while after that about different things that have happened behind the scenes and what is all going on that just goes to show Woody being the head of the basketball program is a freakin’ joke. I listened to the entire podcast, great stuff about the football team and program but the majority of the podcast was not actually pointing out what is wrong but everything is centered around nepotism! A great listen but this nepotism issue is the major roadblock that Dolson has and is why Dolson is fearful for his job. Everyone has their hand in the cookie jar and Dolson hands still maybe tied, unless he can grow a huge pair. The football success definitely helps! Our basketball program is a joke and has been the laughing stock of the B10 and country!

It's getting annihilated by UConn, by Auburn, by Nebraska (twice), by Purdue (twice), by Penn State last season. It's missing out on high school recruits -- including having one decommit. You act as if we're all part of some lunatic fringe who are surrendering to knee-jerk reactions. This program is clearly not on the right track. Even these guys can see that ... I’m just saying that they aren’t going to move on him in early December, as a few people want. It’s simply not going to happen, no matter how knee jerky some people are. Capt. Crimson Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Man good thing we locked up coach cig. Looks like OSU will be sniffing around This is honestly kind of scary. I think he said in the HH episode that his daughter/grandchild are somewhere in Ohio which is why IU made sense. I’m guessing Columbus is even closer. Hopefully he truly wants to stay and the latest extension put that to bed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Capt. Crimson Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Really, not on SD’s radar? They just sucked a$$ against quality competition. They have no further quality competition until conference starts in a couple of weeks. Anyone who expects a “good” season after that debacle is living a lie. Sure I’ll be happy to be proven wrong, but I know what I saw. This “committee” or whoever needs to get their head out of their butt. It’s on SD’s radar. There’s no question about that. I have the tiniest bit of insight to know this to be true. They are paying attention. I think Cignetti has changed the calculus in what can and should be possible with the right effort and investment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Stuhoo, Deserthoozier, MikeRoberts and 1 other 4
Five Prime Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Honestly, I'm on the "don't care if they lose" train. I don't have any particular affinity for any of the players on the team outside of maybe Galloway and Reneau. If losing means tearing it all down then I'm on board.
