Hope we’re wrong about this season - but the days of ‘give em 4 yrs to bring in their own  guys’ and the optics of having a quick trigger finger are long gone. This is big time professional sports…and we’ve smoldered the brand and product for far too long. Bring in someone who is willing to bet on themselves and not feel like the job is an entitlement.

We’re all on page 1183 of a message board talking about firing a guy b/c he hasn’t shown success and is arrogant. Of course there’s going to be anger.

Relative/friend is more likely to me. You don’t defend someone so fervently if you have no connection to them. Especially someone as mediocre as Mike Woodson.

Reasons for Firing (to me)

1) You only have one recruit coming in next year, and Sisley isn't going anywhere, regardless of who the staff is. So you wont be risking losing a recruiting class. Only had 1 in this year, so not like your exactly on a hot streak.

2) With the NIL we have, it's not like we would have to have multiple rebuilding years (See our football team for a good example of how the right coach with a little cash can turn things around quick).

3) We also have a lot of people leaving this offseason whether it being Seniors or going to NBA. So no reason to be worried about the "mass exodus".

4) Just watch what he has put on the court.

Do you struggle to read or with reading comprehension? I literally said that basketball staffers that are on message boards are typically lurkers and not active posters. It isn't uncommon for staffs to have someone that monitors message boards.

I would be shocked if Mike Woodson knew the name of this site, let alone knew it existed. They don't care about guys like you or I with opinions.

It is very common for college basketball staffs to have people that lurk on message boards that are frequented by their fans. There have been college assistants speak on this in the past. Maybe not this site but plenty of places are watched by college coaching staffs. That's the truth on that. Izzo for example is known for having an assistant watch MSU message boards.

We do at UNC and Duke. We do it for security and marketing purposes. Also AD looks because they know where the money comes from and just want to know.
