Yeah, count me in the highly skeptical camp. It goes without saying death threats are wrong. They are also, in the world of sports, very much the stuff of urban legends… which the burner network is perfect to spread. When TJD got that awful letter from a fan, we actually saw it didn’t we? Wouldn’t be hard to produce evidence, which hopefully does not exist. In any case, this is par for the course with the competing narratives out there about Woody and a 5th year, end of this year, mid year etc. The battle of the narratives continue. It sounds conspiratorial but is just matter of fact - many of these accounts are in group chats with each other and whether they view it as coordinated or not, the end result is just two self reinforcing echo chambers.

Save you the time. About half of the posts areabout firing Woodson.
The other half is arguing about inconsequential stuff like handshake lines and attacking other Posters.

Did that idiot threaten TJD's life? I remember it being completely out of line but didn't remember threats. Could be remembering wrong though.

This is actually hilarious in a George Costanza way. It likely would not do a damn thing to keep him. but it would make IU scramble on the messaging front. I actually want to see a coach on the hot seat try this now.

It likely is. I wouldn’t be shocked if it was 1 person with like 20 accounts that all mimick the same things and were directed by Woodson.

I just went back and found an article with pictures of it. No threats thankfully. Just looks like your run of the mill rant around here after a 20 point loss to a random B10 school.

I agree, I'm just saying that it wouldn't surprise me if he tried something like this, thinking that they might be hesitant to say, "no, you are retiring now because you're fired!" It might be the best move he has left if he wants another year?

I could totally see him doing something like that with quinns full backing. Give the king one last year kind of like a victory tour. They really are that delusional the people around woodson.

To my knowledge, nobody has officially said he is for sure gone at the end of the season? He might think if they are only thinking of replacing him, that saying he is retiring after one more year, they might just let him finish rather than firing him. I don't think it would work, I am just saying he might do something like that and preempt his firing.
I think Woody thinks he is a lot more poplar than he actually is......

I think Woodson has no idea how disliked he is. Not a clue. I think he thinks people think of him as some sort of icon

I’d also wager half my salary every coach that sucks at every big program since the invention of the US Postal Service has gotten them. Every fan base has piece of crap fans. It is what it is. Calipari had a Lexington PD officer whose job was to post up at his house at the end FFS. Doesn’t make it right, but it’s the truth. It’s simply an unfortunate reality of human nature.

Its todays legalized sports betting age there are many degenerate gamblers who tell players to off themselves or make death threats to them or about family members because they did not win that degenerate gambler money
