You're wrong!

Maybe I missed it - is there some inside info that a midseason change is underway? Or are you just speculating?

Read the article. Read the arrest report. This isn’t “baggage.” The guy assaulted his fiancé to the point where the injuries were visible to the responding police officer. They separated after six years. He was fired for cause and was paid zero dollars and he did not fight it. He stated he had videos to exonerate himself then refused to supply them.

The arrest report is in the above tweet. I’d encourage everyone to read that and seriously consider if you’d want anyone involved in that anywhere near IU basketball. DV doesn’t just manifest itself once with a 911 call. These things don’t happen in a vacuum.

Not that any of it matters as Jers stated. IU is never hiring Chris Beard.

I've read the police report. You don't like him. Please refer to the 3rd sentence in original post. Changed my mind, you haven't

Rumors are that it could happen as soon as this weekend.  But I still feel like it won't happen that soon.

IU isn't the Indiana school that's on their mind....feel like OSU basketball never draws big crowds anyway but I imagine the campus is buzzing right about now

I’m a Hoosier fan living in Ohio. Everyone at my school where I teach knows I’m a huge Hoosier fan. Literally not one person- student or staff said anything about tonight‘s basketball game to me. My guess is 99% of them don’t know that it’s happening AND i’m at a basketball crazy school. Boys and girls currently a combined 22-1 ranked 1st and 2nd in the state. No one in Ohio cares at all about OSU basketball.  That is not an exaggeration.

Random- thank goodness our high school boys have a game tonight so I won’t be tempted to watch IU.  Our boys coach has 500 wins in 20 seasons. He would do better as the coach at IU than Woody. Our teams play their @$$ off and play a way more entertaining brand of basketball.

If I were May I wouldn't want anything to do with IU frankly. You really turned me down for Mike Woodson? The guy that nearly every coach in collegiate basketball would secretly agree was way in over his head from the word go and was an idiotic hire? Yeah, if I'm May I'm making IU regret that

Dolson had him lined up. QB had him turned down. IU is May’s first choice and dream job.

Ha. Work is getting in the way of my daily intake of IUBB drama...

I get it. I had about 30 free minutes to catch up.  But for awhile there the pace was crazy.

I suspect Scott and Pam need to show they’re in charge now and the stupid idiots are either gone (Quinn) or will be boxed into the background (other trustees/donors).

The IU job has some great things going for it, but I’ve always worried coaches see how we manage our program and it’s a big negative.

I think Hova already made this reference in the thread but if that is actually the dynamic playing out, totally feels like a season finale for the IU basketball version of Succession lol. Somehow despite the past 25 years... I have hope we can enter a new golden age for IU athletics. If we make the right hire and that comes to fruition... a lot of the thanks goes largely to Curt Cignetti and IUFB IMO.

Dolson and Whitten too, obviously... if they get it done.

I am absolutely not an insider just supremely confident that he’s out before our next home game

Still, that's a leap of faith that May would have to take. I don't think the firing of Mike Woodson mid season was the biggest optics issue, never have. The biggest optics issue, aside from the current **** sandwich on the floor, is who in the hell is running the show at IU? May has been turned away in favor of Woodson and those same idiots played a pivotal role in insulting the wife of a basketball genius, thus turning his family away. The pucker up job that will have to take place to put prospective candidates at ease is massive

I hope you are right. The only reason I am slightly skeptical of that is I really don't think they'll want to let Mike Woodson's last time on the sidelines in Assembly Hall to have been as brutal as vs. Illinois. But maybe I'm miscalculating the internal politics.

I think if they make the announcement at some point before the next home game, fans would at least not boo and chant to fire him. Maybe that risk is too much in the name of a "feel good moment"

We will all rejoice at the start of this new chapter.
