Rice and Tucker were the two who came to my mind for me as well

I would take Malik with the caveat he has left a good impression off the court, etc etc. He has offensive talent and getting buckets is the name of the game.

So you're saying he will get better with time? I blame Woodson and would want to see what he would do under new leadership

Kid also should be a HS SR. He should not be on a college campus. We absolutely should want Tucker.

A non 3-pt shooter can't shoot 3s during what should be his senior year of high school? Revoke his scholarship

Is Woodson stupid enough to believe he can win when Malik is back? This kid is a net minus player

We are definitely going back to the "two bigs" approach that has been SO successful for Woodson. /s

They might be, personally, I just think there are better options with less baggage.  We tried hiring someone who doesn't follow the rules with Sampson and it didn't work out, why do it again with Beard when you don't have too.

I did not think Beard was a "not follow rules guy" but more of a potential drinking problem guy.

Somewhere in the past several weeks @Demo commented at how well Goode and Hatton had been coached prior to transferring to IU.  Certainly not the most talented players but they knew what to do and how to do it to the best of their abilities.  With some decent coaching, maybe our potential returning players would exhibit on-court improvement.  IMO Woody has only been interested in plug and play and doesn't want to spend any effort on player development.

It was jarring, especially with Hatton, how much better he is fundamentally than the other players on the court. It was like they were playing different games.

I know many on here aren’t a Chris Beard fan, but the guy wins!  I don’t know what he allegedly did, but I would look his way if I were Scott Dolson.

Probably got answered, but allegedly choked his significant other. There’s also a pile of internet rumors about his drinking habits in Lubbock and Austin. While I don’t subscribe to assigning guilt arbitrarily, in my experience (work closely with state and federal police), this type of stuff does not happen in a vacuum. If DV has progressed to police interaction, it most likely has gone much further. He is HARD NO from me.

Now, non-violent financial/recruiting/paying players types of violations? My morality stops lol and could not care less.

I'm hearing it is at least being discussed

I wonder what Woody values more.... his ego/reputation or the almighty dollar... I wonder if they'll negotiate the buyout if he goes now... could salvage a legacy which will continue to be damaged if he remains

Fwiw his buyout is set and negotiated in his contract — he gets his whole remaining contract paid out $1M/yr.  Remaining contract is about $8.4M at the end of this season.

That said, they could agree to a smaller amount paid out sooner.  Regardless, IU knows what they owe Woody.
