The only thing is MW doesn’t report to Dolson, so he can’t fire him.  Now everyone reports to Pam, so she can fire him or at least tell his direct report to fire him, but will she?  Because MW doesn’t report to Dolson is the issue here and that is why everyone who states it, is very apprehensive about him being fired.  Until it is officially announced, we all have a right to feel that way despite what you or anyone else says is going to happen.  Now do I think in the end will it happen, yes!  There has been to many issues over the past several years that says but until it officially announced, we all can be apprehensive

I would be shocked to learn that any coach doesn't report to the AD. That seems wildly innacurate and "rabbit holish"

As the old OSU AD publicly joked one time something to the effect of “the HC reports to me, but I’m subordinate to the HC.” That was when Meyer was there, I think.

Any successful basketball or football coach will be so powerful that the org chart showing who they report to will be pro forma at best.

Just stating that I don’t have faith in that happening….. This isn’t the first 2nd or 3rd rodeo I’ve gotten my hopes up for.

Same. Cignetti shows some people it is possible. Of course anyone that follows other schools or looks around knows it is possible. But IU has been so bad it verges on the statistically improbable.

At this point we could hire the president of the Celtics and I’d be cautiously optimistic at best knowing that IU basketball could screw anything up.

In the case of IU in its current state with the current HC, I promise he answers to the AD. He's done absolutely nothing to put him above anybody in that administration. Sometimes it's more about what you do than about who you know.

These are fun conspiratorial discussions but at the end of the day he got his 4 year trial period, he hasn't been successful, no matter what he tells himself, he doesn't recruit, he's arrogant, he doesn't connect with 18 year old kids unless he's holding a big fat bag of cash, and he simply not good at the Xs and Os. He'll be fired at the end of the season, plain and simple

He didn't even deserve 4 years. Should've been gone last season.

Their whole "this guy should get too many years because the last guy got too many years" crap needs to end too. Giving crappy coaches more time just sets the program further back.

Yea.  I don’t get this at all.  Any well run organization gets rid of bad executives asap.  IUBB does the opposite.

QB like MW is still living in the 70s because that’s the only time in their life they mattered

He may on paper bur I'm guessing quinn strongly advises dolson on how to handle him. Gives him hints on what moves would not be good for his career. Cig certainly seems to be a good hire but next year will be telling. Remember allen had the one good year and it was a total fluke.

FB may take a step back, it’s hard not to, but this staff and program have little in common with Allen.  Staff, NIL, and recruiting are quite different.

Right just saying people should probably not expect another 11-1 season. Could be more like 8-4.

Yea, and that would be not a Tom Allen fluke is all I’m saying.

Only thing that gives me hope for the next BB hire breaking our 25 year run of mistakes is what happened with FB.
