He knows things are not well or he wouldn't have been hiding out in the Bahamas. He's been told the end is near unless things turn around. Not by Dolson but by people close to him.

He hid out in the Bahamas? No golf? No blackjack? No late night wine and cigars?

Personally-created narratives and fantasies are so much more fun, though...

Interesting... would these people close to him be his booster friends and Quinn? I truly hope the combination of the poor performance and all the dirty laundry coming embarrasses these people so bad they stay out of the way. Do you think its likely they tell him to retire and he listens?

Trilly very often right, but had had a couple of notable misses with IU. Are we sure he didn't just pull the coaching list from BTown Banners to stir up a large and excitable fan base. Maybe there was more to his update, but that seems pretty basic. ; )

Yeah, I'm sure they're hinting that it would be wise to retire at the end of the season. One thing Mike loves, loved about being the head coach of IUBB is going out in public and everyone recognizes him, goes up to talk to him and things like that. That isn't happening anymore and that bothers him. That also tells him things are not going well.

I'm not sure who you're expecting on the list. Coach K? It's basic but I would take most of those guys.

Also I was contacted last season by one of Trilly's guys but have not been this season yet.

Of course only when people stop coming to kiss the kings ring does he notice things aren't going well. Narcissistic all the way through. It's a shame. I was never for bringing back a former player to coach just for the sake of it. But I would have never had imagined he would be the guy to do more damage to fracture the fan base the way he has.

He ain’t retiring and he’s going to hang in there until the bitter end and force or dare the University to make a move, then he’s going out kicking and screaming.  It won’t be a good look by him or the University and he will try to stick it to them and the non-true fans, blaming them for him getting fired!  It’s going to get ugly, but I really hope I am wrong!  I don’t think so because he thinks he is entitled and his bruised ego will definitely take a giant hit!

Again, he deserves the full on scorched earth treatment. I don't have words to express my distain for the man or what he's done to the basketball program... and Buckner too... absolutely disgusting parasites.

We are a football school now and he is no longer the top guy at IU anymore. Cigs is top dog and that must be crushing to woodsons massive ego.

My understanding is that his term on the BoT is ending, not just as the chairman. He could be appointed by the governor again, but whether or not that happens remains to be seen. What also remains to be seen is if he even wants another term, as some on here have said he doesn't.

fortunately, it's a different governor... hopefully that matters.

Not just that, Cig is the highest paid employee in Indiana history. 72 million for football at IU, it is incredible. It is also 72 million reasons why I think the basketball job should be very attractive when it opens. 8 million a year at a "basketball school."  The right guy here winning big will get Paid

But @AH1971 said this forum would be like a morgue by January because of what a resounding success this team would be. Lol

Maybe he was talking about his participation here?

I mean, if this crapshow gets rid of the Parasite in Chief, can't we call this season a "resounding success"?

And how pissed is Woodson that Coach Cig is making almost double his base salary plus incentives? It's gotta sting just a little bit... and Cig got his boys over the hump right away.

I am right there with you!  Just watching him on the sidelines or interviews makes me very nauseous!  I swear I’ve puke in my mouth several times watching a game, lol
