Absolutely not, Woodson never even should've been hired. An improvement from that is a low standard. There has to be someone that's shown more than May we could hire. Chris007 1

Popular Post cleeter Posted March 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2024 I’m still in the Pearl or bust mode. Hes proven and with our NIL and everything. He’d kill it. Bring him in for 5-7 year minimum, then we he leaves, we won’t even be looking at coaches from Dayton or FAU. May will come in with so many expectations, I don’t see him being able to fufulll them to what we all want IU to be and IU will be back to mediocre at best, if not worst. Will i take May over Woodson, hell yes. Will it immediately make me pumped for next season…mehSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk tkbbn, Jet812, KYHoosier and 5 others 8
Kentuckysucks Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 I'd hire Collins over May. Just a much safer hire imo. I can totally see Dusty being bust. Could be great. It's really a coin flip. Home Jersey and Hoosierfan2017 2

EVERY coach has upside and downside. As you said, May is not Archie (who, btw, had a damn good resume for a P5 job. May's upside is a 25 year run. Can't get a higher upside than that. Right. I think it boils down to what risks you see with each and how likely to occur/impactful those risks are... then you make the call based on your comfort level. Kind of like a baseball manager trying to decide whether to hit for a single or for the fences (maybe a bad analogy). For me, with where IUBB is, I'd rather the sure thing to help turn things around and build a foundation right now. But that doesn't mean Dusty can't also do that, then be here for 15-20 years where we are dominant.

I’m not sure it’s fair to say that Dolson has made up his mind, and there are some others who still believe in MW. But Dolson isn’t trying to undermine Buckner or Woody by conducting some kind of shadowy PR effort. That would be counterproductive for him and could very well jeopardize both his reputation and career at IU. Plus, it’s not how he works. Gotcha! But it is safe to say that there is a plan in place?

It was a broken play and the ball bounced off the backboard into Edey’s hands, instead of him putting it back up, he looks out to find Lance Jones in the corner, who hit a back breaking 3. Our guys wouldn’t have done that but of course we have terrible shooting Honestly, though....it was a bad play by Edey. He had a lay in.

We've had plenty of talent and....well. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk That is 100% fair, and I agree. Just win baby! I do, however, think that a May hire (or even Pearl) injects a bolt of lightening into the state and they will show us what real recruiting looks like. Be out on the trail tirelessly. Be involved majorly (from the HC role). Remember, we still have plenty of $$ for the portal and a new hire breathes excitement into the program and gets some players interested that maybe wouldn't have been. Similar to the Cig stuff from football portal time. (All of this is mostly just hopes and wishes) rcbowla 1

Not getting Bruce Pearl because the IU administration doesn’t support it? That would be entirely unacceptable. They hired Woodson because he played here 40 years ago. Let's not set the bar very high. With their holier than though crap they love to pull? Entirely predictable.
