Soon to RETIRE Coach Woodson Thread

Mark Few rockets to #2 on my board. I'm drooling a little thinking what he could do with IU's resources.

Don't get why anyone would want Few.  He's old, has no ties to the Midwest, has never won anything outside of a mid major and frequently gets upset in the tourney.

Not doubting our guys here at all, but believing the GM of the Boston Celtics would leave his job to coach the Indiana Hoosiers is insane.  (I'm a little insane)

I look at it as 1.5 million to 10 million. Also his love of coaching coming back. But I might be a IU homer.

Except I’m not. I told you exactly how this was going to play out and it’s happening to a T. Sorry that you bought all the nonsense saying that he was going to get booted in the middle of the season.

WTF do you call this?  A "retirement?" LOL.  Go pee down someone else's leg.

They’ve made the Sweet Sixteen EVERY SINGLE YEAR since 2015. An absolutely ignorant statement.

I hope you are right; and like you said, it looked good last time as well.  Just not going to get my hopes up like last time.  (Who am I kidding; my Brad Stevens hype is already through the roof)

He’s not number 1 on my list but Few has consistently played a tough non conference schedule and usually fairs pretty well outside of this year. With NIL coming into play he needs to move on ASAP. He’s also been to the title game.

I wouldn’t take Cronin or Few over Pearl and May.
I also like Beard better than Cronin and Few.

and even though I don’t truly believe we have a chance with Stevens,  I’m not sure he’s the best candidate now that he’s been out of college coaching.

Pearl

May/Beard

Stevens

Good coach.  I would look elsewhere.

Meanwhile, the Celtics are on TNT and down 18 at home vs the Mavs minus Luka.  They must have been informed and are depressed.

I literally said there was going to be an announcement that Mike Woodson would be stepping down at the conclusion of the season amidst all the rumors after the Illinois game that he was getting fired and not finishing the season. That’s exactly what is happening.

He wouldn’t be my first choice either. Mainly because of age. But the Zags getting upset in the tourney thing just isn’t real at all. They are probably the most consistent tournament performers since Izzo in his heyday. They just never got over that final hump. I’ll see myself out.

Few has 41 wins in the tournament, good for 5th of all current coaches. The current IU players were children when this take was valid.
