Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Admittedly, I did not watch the game... but I have to ask...

If  Rice, Carlyle, Reneau and Tucker are such liabilities (and from what I've seen, they are)... why are they in the game at critical junctures? Seems to me to be a coaching/leadership issue. Of course, we all know and agree that there is... but inquiring minds just want to know why.

The only reason why Rice was in the game was Leal fouling out and Tucker or Reneau wasn't in the game.

A nice discussion with a lot of names mentioned here.  Goodman acts like he knows that Woody is gone at the end of the season.

I watched that last night and everyone they mentioned they said it probably would be a long shot.

100%. Also as @cleeter said if you get rid of Woodson today then Dusty starts getting questions asked about the IU job before we play them. Or Brad does at the trade deadline. But now everyone can say IU has a coach right now. There is no job opening.

But we’re talking to people for sure. I’m not guessing either.

You're not guessing that we are talking to other coaches, or we aren't talking to Brad or Dusty?

I don’t particularly care what he did at Georgia. We decided we were too good for S16’s and regular season B10 titles and haven’t sniffed either since.

And we weren’t going to sniff them again with Crean. Of course he had Grant Geleon (sp?) coming in to save the day.

We’re talking to agents, wife’s, coaches, kids everyone. I’m just messing around but yes back channeling is going on. Probably with many people but I know of one for sure.

Spill it, brother!

Yeah, but who would do that? CMW's ego made certain his staff was filled with yes men and inexperienced coaches. Fire Moe and you have to promote Larry or Curly, Shemp and Joe have no interest in the job.

Maybe it's addition by subtraction. Just getting rid of Woodson's "wisdom" might be of assistance...

Word on the street is we’re talking to Sampson’s old denim tailor. Gotta convince him to come to Bloomington and crank out those old Canadian tuxes before we can get into the nitty gritty with Kelvin.

Okay the way "I'm not guessing either" was written I wasn't sure which way you meant it. Thanks for clarifying!

“I’m not guessing” is the my least favorite Rabby-ism. Used almost exclusively when we are about to lose a recruit that he had been previously clickbaiting as a high likelihood of coming to IU.

IU has the money / NIL, the facilities, the conference, the recruiting base, the platform- old blue blood image lurking beneath, the exposure, the ongoing elite development of several other of our sports programs (football, women’s bball, baseball, always soccer), and at least an existing core of good players.

We absolutely have the ability to bring in one of the really good coaches out there.

No more bad hires. Time to bring in that proven winning, program developing, recruiting, still relatively young, modern bball running coach.

I’m an optimist. I think it’s finally going to happen at the end of this season.

Hard pass.  Like Archie, I just don’t think he measures up to the job.

I get the size joke but, otherwise?  His resume is miles better than Archie’s was at time of hire.  It’s actually very similar, if not better, than Sampson’s was when IU hired him.

if you don’t like Cronin, it’s because of his unfiltered personality or style of play (which is similar to Sampson, Beard, Barnes etc.).  Not because of his resume at Murray, Cincy and UCLA.
Not my first or second choice, but he would be a massive upgrade from Woodson.
I’ll be paying attention to his public comments before and after the game on the 14th.
