Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Minnesota has like 25% of the nil Woodson has. I really do think Woodson is the worst coach in the league given the resources and talent he has

Yes he is and I don’t even think it’s close!

Being put in the same tier as Doug Gottlieb is not a good look for Woody.

Thanks

Woody on chopping block…no surprise.

Shrews as a mid-tier coach. His rocket launch might be heading back to earth.

The “time to retires”, including Cal, make sense.

No arguments in regards to those in the great and elite categories.

I must be blind but don’t see Dusty anywhere.

He could go into the retirement section too!  Actually, can we put him in a retirement home instead?

Baffles me that back to back 25 pt losses can literally be erased by 1 win by 1 pt against a somewhat average team and a few days off after. My memory isn't THAT short yet. I am to the point where I'm realizing he's here for the remainder of the season but im still hoping he hangs it up at years end.

If we beat NW and MD I think he’s back next year.

Please tell me this is satire.

May not be.  Hornsby could be right all along.

Are you sure your memory isn't that short yet, or do you not remember? :farting_smiley:

In general, the more we win, the chances of Woody leaving after this season decrease.

So, I get some folks want IU to keep winning games, and that's fine I get it, but it does create more risk with our coaching situation next year.

Looking back on last year, we had a late season five game winning streak.  Most fans generally liked the run, though we still missed the tourney by a mile, making those wins fairly meaningless.  But, that five game run may have kept Woody around another year.  If he lost most of those games he might be gone.  We'll never know.

Top-5 finish in the B1G this year and win a tournament game... even with a more powerful Dolson it's not a certainty he's gone.  After all, "It's Indiana."

That's an interesting question for the board.  If you knew for a fact that losing 3 of those 5 games would have spared us this disaster, would you still root for wins in retrospect?

Not sure it mattered. Unless we got a yes from Stevens, it sounded like Buckner was adamant that Woodson get a 4th year just like Archie did.

Im ready for a coach that doesn't answer every damn question with, "Just gotta keep workin'." That's not an answer! Thats an answer someone gives when they don't know jack about what they are attempting to do. Never once do you hear any actual technical answers as to what the staff or players are doing to correct things. I literally question his basketball knowledge outside of what HE could do as a player.

Don't get lost in the individual W's and L's here. I said at the beginning of the season it would take competing for a Big Ten title and a top four NCAA seed to bring him back and I think that's still true. We are still pretty far away from "Woody stays" territory.

Each win does however make it much less likely that Woody is let go in season, but I think the odds for that are low anyway.

Indiana doesn't need help mismanaging the men's basketball program, they've been quite effective at that the last 25 years. Don't give them ideas.
