Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

Imo we do not want a mid-season firing.  That seems like it could lead to a talented team making a run and getting an interim coach hired.  Just like Ohio State last year.  How's that working for them now?

Just let it ride and can his @$$ in March.

This was my fear for a while, but I gotta think Dolson and company know IU and Ohio aren’t the same jobs. Personally I think all we get is a retirement announcement unless things go completely off the rails. If we get anything before end of season. We also aren’t in a position to take chance on an interim. This one cannot be a miss or a risky move. Risky would be someone like McCollum who has an .815 winning percentage as a head coach— and I’d be ecstatic about him and he’s probably 3 or 4 on my list. It’s been nearly 10 years since Crean won the B1G. So I think we don’t have to worry about a Diebler situation

We are favored in 6 games (Warren Nolan), 3 (team cast), 2 (ESPN). It appears no one knows what to think about us. I personally think we win 3-5 more. We depend on way too many variables to even be somewhat competitive. Like Goode having a career night, KC actually finding the bottom of the net... if history is of any consequence, we tend to have consistency issues, e and e issues, and lack of team play issues that really decrease the potential for variables in our favor. I can never root for IU to lose, not in my blood, but Lord please don't let the admin screw this up it is time to move on!

I agree and that’s my biggest fear, it is all to easy for them to screw this up!

I think many of are very apprehensive about the administration making the right decision, primarily having too many cooks in the kitchen!

Coach Woodson regarding outside noise towards himself and team after Ohio State win:  Again it just shows the character of this team.  I don’t even want to comment about the outside noise.  It’s ridiculous.

I was thinking a couple days ago the one thing we were missing around here and that would help my Queasy feeling about this whole situation was an appearance by Kaulie!  Welcome back

Thank you lol.  Maybe I’ll bring some good luck :)

Only MW would think it’s ridiculous!  We all know the outside noise is justified!

None of them would be considered. Just not happening. That’s sourced information. Dolson has zero interest in an OSU situation

If every internet rumor was true we would be undefeated for decades.

I don't trust the morons in charge.  I'm glad you do.

Ok guys…

Last nights game changed EVERYTHING.

That’s my unpopular opinion.  He’s still gone at the END of the season.  If we had got blown out last night, and blown out at Northwestern then that would have been it.  I mean he is not walking into SSAH after that.  I mean besides, who doesn’t like to get blown anyways right?

That win saved him for the time being.  Look at how HARD the team played.  The coaches were coaching hard too.  Woodson’s reaction after the game said it all.  He knew it.  They all knew it.

I think that there is a real chance this team goes 11-9 in conference and wins a game in the conf tourney.  That gets them in March Madness and Woodson can say he got us back or whatever he wants to say and goes out on good terms.

Now the only way that happens is if Mgbako sits.  I have said since the first time I saw him play he can’t play at this level.  I argued Banks should have started over him but this staff couldn’t unlock Banks.  He doesn’t have the athleticism or motor to play at this level.  Leal should have been playing a lot more minutes his whole career here.  He won Woodson two games last year after all.  Btw when are teams going to learn you can’t iso Leal late in games?  Goode is not going to score like that every game but he will score enough.  MR will be back.  Mgbako should not be starting, and should be around 10 minutes per game.  He shouldn’t be in late game situations.  Idk if Woodson sees it but I hope he has seen enough to cut down his minutes.

We are NOT what our record says we are.  We are not good, but there is a path to get 10 or 11 wins and a possible March Madness invitation.  Last night’s game did change some things.  Having said all that, I really hope that I’m wrong.

Mbagko sucks overall. He's a decent shooter but that's it. He's stiff as a board, slow and has the bball IQ of a chalupa.

Mind blowing he was a five star. Sometimes I think some of us would be better at rating players and get paid to do it . I've seen alot more bbal knowledge on this board than many so called recruiting sites claim to have

I am on board for a change in the entire coaching staff. We can and will do better. This is not the administration who has made the last few coaching decisions. See Coach Cignetti. However, I am not going to use demeaning or derogatory names in reference to our coaches. Whatever we think about CMW's coaching abilities, he is still a hall of fame player for IU. I understand that it's two different conversations. Hopefully when the change is made we can once again recognize what a great player he was for this university.
