Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Would be crazy if true and he did not have good reason to not speak to them. Especially since RMK and poppa Yeagley were pretty close. Those 2 used to play doubles together until one match where RMK got a little RMKish lol.

The later is more the truth. They weren’t really that close

Cigs filled in for him when he told Yeagley he wouldn’t speak to the soccer team.

Whether he was asked as a backup plan or not, you gotta imagine Cig Daddy is the better option here from the jump.

Perhaps. Didn’t have to beat friends but he shared the tennis playing stories during an interview I heard last month.  Seemed they played several times.

This. Woodson is being kept because people with power/money want to protect their friend. Woodson will hire Payne to protect his friend.

Short of a complete meltdown next year they'll look for every excuse to bring him back for year 5.

And if they do, IU will likely not be given any credit for doing so by most of the people who habitually criticize IU for being “too impatient” or “changing coaches too often.”

From what @Chris007 has said, QB thinks Dusty May is Archie Miller (and QB is clearly triggered by Archie Miller). I would think that another final four run would turn Dusty May into Brad Stevens, but I also think that 3 beers will turn my wife into Margot Robbie, so what the hell do I know?

Do the opposite of what QB thinks and you'll look like a genius.

“I leave in the dark, I get home in the dark,” Cignetti said at a press conference Dec. 20. “It's been a lot of 4:30, 5 a.m. mornings till 10:30, 11:30 at night. Was even in the office at 12:30 one night. Haven't done that since 1986, but it was crunch time. It had to be done.”

Yeah, I think Cig was the better option here.

I’m sure they had plenty of cordial interactions but Yeags was certainly one of the many in the athletic department that was annoyed by his behavior and him thinking he didn’t have to play by the same rules as everyone else

It’s just basic human decency. Like there’s no reason to be a jerk for the hell of it.  Woody thinks he’s a king and everybody else is his subject (even though they’re better at their jobs than he is at his).

This is all nauseating. I hope it isn't true, particularly the HH and practice piece. I do find it strange there has been seemingly no cross-promotion or marketing done with the run the women have been on under Teri. You would think he would have made an appearance at least watching a home game when able due to schedule or some other joint media. Correct me if I am wrong please, I just do not recall seeing anything of the sort.

Well, it wasn't like he had a recruiting trip that took him away. The more of this I hear/read, the more of an arrogant POS I see. And from what I just read about the BoT and open meetings law violations, he's right in step with his buddy, Quinn Buckner. It kind of makes me sick, actually.

So I think the way Woodson (allegedly) views the other sports at Indiana is probably a carryover from the Knight years.  I have seen it pop up from Dakich about both the football team and the women's team the past few years.  When those guys were here and playing, they were it.  The other sports were truly second class citizens and I think that at least some of them have kind of carried arrogance from then forward.

It has been mentioned before that IMO there is an unearned arrogance the surrounds the men's program now.  The Knight guys that got Woodson in did so on their name and mainly on Coach Knight's back.  There aren't really any of them that are going to be huge coaching must gets.  The players today are living off the goodwill reserve created by those same old heads who use Knight's name to get control of the program.  And none of them are providing the results that would support any of that arrogance.

A little humility would serve them all well.  Woodson couldn't wear Knight's jockstrap as a coach and until the players start doing something in the BIG and then in March and April, they couldn't wear those former Knight players like Woodson's jock as players.

Unfortunately, if this is true -- it will just lead to forced, fake interactions from Woody. If he decides to comply.

You'd think he would want to be supportive of the women's team -- and other programs as well. Not something he's forced to do. That's what being in a college atmosphere is all about.

Seems yet another reason he's just a horrible fit for the college ranks.

Dolson better squash that real quick...if I'm him, I'm much more worried about pissing Teri off than appeasing The Mike Woodson...
