Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

Woodson mentions he needs to add some pieces. Why in the world would any transfer want to come play in this terrible system?

Why would we even offer Queen? So we can play 2 bigs again???? At what point do we scrap it?

Seems like our options are, give him 1more year to figure it out and completely change EVERYTHING abut his system, or make a move for someone new... Given I think Shertz, May, Beard, and Shrews... All of whom I think were better than Holtmann, Archie, and Mack during our last search... Why wait one year for the inevitable?

No, you are twisting it to fit your narrative. Same as you are saying others are.

if Woody were to be replaced, we would have our 4th coach in 8 seasons.

It would also be our 4th coach in 17 seasons.

But I'm the one twisting things to fit a narrative.

- Consistently having a successful strategy/approach to the game, fundamentals, execution, and talent to be nationally competitive.

- Being consistently ranked in the top 20 to top 10 in the nation.

- Finishing in the top 2 or 3 in the Big Ten.

- Winning at least two to three games in the NCAA tournament, annually.

Those used to be the minimally acceptable requirements for Indiana basketball.

Used to be.

He might be able to get a few players but what is the foundation.. Even if we get Queen it solves nothing. We already have a queen.

I think my biggest concern is if Woodson is back next year is if I will be tough enough to survive watching another season. It truly scares the he'll out of me!

We will know by May how bad next season will be. Need 3-4 starters.

Yep we keep changing coaches but it's because me make bad hires. We either decide we are going to make a real hire or just stick with woodson and hope for the best. If you fire him and don't make a real huge than yes just keep him cause it won't matter. If your not serious about a legit hire it's all pointless to keep changing coaches

Indiana needs about 6-7 new players in general. The bench is sad. There are zero options at the guard position to be a threat each night. I do really like Gabe, but he’s not going to be the stud Indiana needs.

With our history, we'll add 6 front-court players. Probably run a 5 center line-up

I think he’ll want to keep Malik as the #1 option next season, which isn’t good. Liam may help but not all freshman are impact players. You can see how raw McKenzie still is.

The NIL money will have to seriously talk if Indiana wants to upgrade because it won’t be the coaches that get kids to join this dumpster fire.

Nope we might be an OK backup but that's it you need a major overhaul and the portal is a complete crap shoot.

NIl money is great but if you are going against big boys it doesn't mean much they can match it. You can beat out a school like minnesota but not kansas

We won't know for sure. I don't care what players we get I won't trust this staff to get them to play and shoot the ball good till I see it on the court! Been burned alot. I thought this team should be competitive jtill they stepped on the court in early November
