Yeah, I agree with this.  At least we should be happy we are part of the BIG whatever and our conference seems to be at the forefront of this movement thusly setting us up for monetary successes.   Being one of programs in flux wouldn't feel great as you wait in limbo.

Stanford is the only bargaining chip left out there that a conference can use to lure in Notre Dame, and even that isn't good enough anymore.

Reports are saying the ACC may consider nabbing them and Cal for the heck of it, but... I don't know.

This addition is a dream come true for me. I grew up and lived most of my life in Bloomington and now live in Eugene. To know IU will travel here is amazing. They will definitely have me there to support them when any sports team comes to town.

Don't like him but agree with this idea. Let football do their own thing and then let the rest of the sports go back to conferences being regional

I would guess there will be a heavy push for divisions to be organized by distance.  
 

For years Wisky and Iowa got a free ride in football being part of the crappy west. Now unless they go to 4 small divisions, they can enjoy traveling to LA and the PNW every year. Whereas it stunk for IU being in the East, at least all our sports will basically be traveling in just the midwest (plus crappy Rutgers).

That would have been interesting had CC been lower. Hard to really give that title to someone who did not do it in the BT but thankfully it does not apply

Yeah I think the conference record would apply to players/teams in that conference at the time of the record.

Can we make it a prerequisite that Oregon has to change their court?  I don't want to watch games on this eyesore of a court.

On a similar note of conference records, the addition of these new schools is going to add some great throwback content to the Big Ten Network. I flip on multiple Big Ten Classic games a week.

In person it looks good. When your on the court it makes absolutely no difference. The players won't have any issue with it. That's really what matters.

Notre Dame is getting 22 million a year for football from NBC.  Deal runs out in a couple of years.  The ACC is the next conference that is set to implode and probably isn't the most stable place for ND to hang out.  They don't bring a new market for B10 tv but they are a national brand.  Would you take a deal with a shaky ACC or a 80-90 mil deal with the B10.  It is all about money sometimes.  ND would then also get a chance to reconnect with old rivals MIchigan, MSU, Purdue, USC, UCLA and Stanford.  Stanford would come in to B10 after a couple of years as an independent.  Stanford and ND are both AAU schools and the culture would fit the B10.  Also, B10 would also wrap up all the major markets on the west coast with Stanford a member, not to mention Silicone Valley.  If the ACC implodes sooner rather than later because of Florida ST, Clemson and Ga Tech, it could all come about quickly.

I think ND would want to stay independent and keep that lucrative NBC deal to themselves. I suspect they sign a half in deal, like they have today with the ACC, with B10.

It may not be esthetically pleasing in this pic or on TV but if you saw while on the floor at Matthew Knight Arena it's actually very cool. I think IU fans would love this entire building and court. But trust me, I thought it looked silly before moving here. To each his own though.
