Tennessee in-home visit today according to Volnation

If that's true, then I think it's time to move on.  Kid has been on several visits and probably numerous calls.  Still deciding?  Enough is enough.  I want guys who want to be here.

Wouldn't go that far yet with Ledlum but it's getting close to be that with Knecht for me. Just from what I've read I'm not sure the staff is going after anyone else outside of Ledlum, Knecht, Ryan, and maybe DeLoach. Not at all time to panic. However, regardless there better be some player development this summer. Our guys need to live in Cook Hall. I don't think we've had that really since the '12 and '13 groups.

Lol no.

A Academic All-American at Harvard a few weeks before finals and is down to three schools said "yes" when one of those three asks if they can come to Cambridge and have lunch with him before he makes his final decision? That seems entirely reasonable.

Also seems like a kid that is carefully weighing his options and will commit to the school that he truly wants to be at.

This is an awful recruiting strategy. It's been 3 weeks lol

Sounds like a last ditch effort from Tennessee

I wonder if Tennessee feels/knows he's an IU lean and wants one more stab at it. I mean, I would want Woodson and Co. to do the same thing with recruits if true.

1. I get it.  Intangibles, maybe versatility, defense, etc.  But Battle can shoot the rock.  Last year his numbers dropped because of how awful Minnesota was and he was shooting from the moon but he can be dangerous on the right team.  I felt like he fit our needs as a shot maker really well.  Ledlum provides some different stuff and hopefully his shooting numbers are down for the same reasons but I'm less convinced.  also seems to be a question if we get him as Tenn and Barnes aren't afraid of NIL opportunities in a recruitment.  They do their thang.

Agree on Battle being a better shooter.  But I wouldn't call him a knock down shooter....I think the sample space is good enough to call him a bulk 35% three point shooter.  Ledlum is a 30% three point shooter in lower quantity and against lesser competition.   Obviously that's an advantage for Battle.  That said, Ledlum is a better get to the rim and back down option IMO and a better defender and rebounder.  Battle is a proven quantity.  I'd say lower ceiling on Battle, higher floor.  We don't know how Ledlum will translate to Big Ten play.

In terms of Tennessee 'doing their thing' with the NIL, they have only signed one player in the portal -- Jordan Gainey -- and I believe someone said he is an assistant's son.  Their issue is the numbers crunch -- three freshman coming in, unsure of a couple coming back.  At most right now they have one spot open.

My “doing their thang” reference was to Barnes and recruitng in general and not necessarily to transfers although it’s ultimately the same thing.  We just don’t have enough history of Barnes with portaling to judge portaling results. But recruiting has provided some signs.

You aren't usually an "I have a source" guy.
So that's great to hear from you Aloha.
Like soon soon or Keion Brooks "soon"

I get the feeling he is messing with everyone. Could be wrong???

Aloha isn't typically someone who does that.  He's pretty straight forward when he wants to mess with someone.

That said, as with everyone, sources have varying degrees of accuracy and mean different things, and sometimes even if they believe what they are saying, they aren't correct.

We know (or have reason to believe two things):  he didn't close the deal (at least yet) with either Knecht or Ledlum.  But we also know Ledlum is at least still listening.

Saying Aloha is straight forward is an interesting take. I think he's one of the most sarcastic posters here. Which by the way is one reason I enjoy a majority of his posts.
