TTT Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Big winners in the IU football mess Tom Allen the biggest winner given unqualified. Womack great stair stepper DeBeor great staircase Penix great for him (miscellaneous winners are all those who got to work in a field they like and were paid well) Quote
Hoosier987 Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Mitchell Paige bringing up some good points on his tweets. Clearly not happy…and how could you. Quote

TTT Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 As usual just a total program talent disparity. Quote
IUFootballHappyHappyJoyJoy Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 At this point, I just know he's gone sooner or later; it's up to Indiana to decide if he's worth one more year of this nonsense. My concern is that Indiana will cheap out on the next hire, as always. FWHoosier84 1 Quote

coonhounds Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Swear this dude is tom crean 2.0. Act like a clown on the side line and when things go bad start throwing people under the bus. Which if true means we may be 2 head coaching hires away from a decent one!Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk FWHoosier84 and AZ Hoosier 2 Quote
TTT Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 IU sold out when after that game where the players interrupted post game tv interview happily telling everyone how great of coach T.A. is/was. A win/s in a starved program makes for undisciplined craziness sometimes. T.A. Owes them. FWHoosier84 1 Quote

cbp4iu Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Curious to see what gigs Tom Allen would get after he gets let go. Will he want to coach again? Quote

Nothing mor likely. He's not even that good of a DC. Kane Wommack made him look like he was still a HS coach. go iu bb 1 Quote
Alford Bailey Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 If the team has given up and lays an egg against Rutgers I say fire him at that point. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 The reality of the matter is Allen isn't going anywhere -- unless he has some sort of epiphany, realizes he's in way over his head and resigns. Dolson has proven quite adept at fundraising (witness getting alumni to pony up $10M to fire Archie), but I have a difficult time believing he'd be able to get nearly $21M to fire the football coach. And if CTA is let go before the end of next season, that's what he's owed. Heck, even if we tried to make a move after next season, it'd still cost almost $8M. Perhaps -- and this would be a big if -- the sides could agree that this isn't working and negotiate a lesser buyout? Not sure how, or if, that would work. But that seems to be the only hope at this point. Quote

It’s not a lump sum; it’s offset by his future income; there’s significantly less revenue if he stays; etc. I think he’s gone at the end of the season. Hovadipo 1 Quote

Chryst last year got fired mid season and took an $11 mn buyout compared to the $16 mn or so he was contractually obligated to. Doing some reading, he got that money in a lump sum rather than over several years like most buyout or owed monies are. There's always room for negotiation. Stuhoo 1 Quote
