We have 1 recruit coming in next year with at least 2 scholarships open and most likely 4-5 scholarships that will be open.  I have a hard time believing that there isn't a late bloomer in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, or Michigan for IU to offer.  The unwillingness or inability of this staff to find diamonds in the rough to develop is unbelievable.

Try 6 to 8 scholarships.

If I recall, RMK hated the B1G Tournament so wonder if starting with him it's never been a priority.. that's a big generality I know over all these years, but just always made me think of our lack of success in it that way.

We had some success in it during the Davis years. Crean was never a good tournament coach, so a lot of it could be attributed to him.

Officiating and what might have been. My thoughts here aren't about officials favoring one team over another, instead, my post is about how the game is called can affect the game.  We've all heard announcers say it- "they're letting them play today".  The officiating crew you draw and how closely the games are officiated can have a bearing on the outcomes.  Some quick stats- during our current 4 game win streak the average combined total of fouls called per game was 23.2.  During the 6 previous games when IU went 1-5 the average combined total of fouls was 38.3. That's quite a disparity.  Imo, IU was negatively affected by closer called games earlier in the Big Ten season.  IU does not shoot free throws well, so we were at a disadvantage in games where both teams are shooting a lot of free throws.  Coach Woodson does not manage our bench well (auto-benching with 2 first half fouls) which led to key players sitting.  IU's defense is less effective without Ware on the floor.  During the 1-5 stretch Ware averaged 31.3 minutes per game while during our 4-game win streak Ware has averaged 37 minutes per game.  In summary, if Big Ten officials had "let us play" earlier in the year, we could possibly had been 3rd or 4th in the Big Ten.  Of course, the flip side may be that if the officiating crews had called our last 4 games closer, we wouldn't have won all 4 and Mike Woodson would be on the hot seat.

This is encouraging….….

However, I wonder why the Indiana Jerseys and numbers are omitted? Are the sponsors below part of their NIL deals?

Couple things:

-It's easy to miss things when the board is this active, but this popped up yesterday and it was said that this has been advertised all season and some thought that it is already sold out. Doesn't really mean anything for their futures.

-IU marks can't be used on outside business. You'll notice coaches putting on camps in the summer and it's never "IU Football Camp", it's "Curt Cignetti Football Camp". The money goes straight to the players/coach putting on the camp, therefore IU has nothing to do with it. In the case of the Cignetti camps, he actually has to pay IU to rent his own practice and game fields to put the camps on.

Boom.

Finally someone said it outloud.

The administration doesn’t deserve anything. They have knowingly ruined any chance we’ve had for 30 years. It’s been glaringly obvious to many fans paying attention. Get the hell out of the way and let someone who knows what they are doing take control.

95% of my frustrations for years has been against the administration. Yet the coaches get the heat. I mean, they’ve mostly sucked too, but they’ve been hamstrung from the beginning.

Yeah hopefully this gets some traction in the media. I heard DD bring this up about 10-15 years ago and if KathyC has any legitimacy she said the same. Hopefully Crean brings it up again next time on TV.

Not surprising to anyone. Seems like a good kid. Lots of physical talent. I could see him contributing on a P5 team next year in the right situation.

Banks did seem like a good young man with potential.  I believe that he, Gunn, and Leal were on the IU all-academic team.  I'm not sure why our bench players haven't developed.  Our starters seem to develop, but I don't believe that we've seen much development in bench players the last couple of years.

Banks reminds me a bit of Geronimo. Both athletic and many expected both to develop.

Geronimo did get twice as many minutes at Maryland vs his junior year at IU. With that extra playing time he got to shoot twice as many threes which he shot at a blistering 17% pace, had twice as many turnovers vs assists, shot a career worst 43% from the field, etc.  Sometimes it’s lack of development but sometimes the guys just aren’t all that good.

Highlights of new commit Bryson Tucker via Inside the Hall.  He can definitely play the two guard.  He's probably a natural three.  Tucker seems to be a better ball handler and more fluid player than MgBako.

Kid looks like he's modeled his game off Kobe. I can live with that.

My memories on Facebook just reminded me that Clifton Moore transferred 5 years ago today. I have no idea who in the hell Clifton Moore was....

I forgot that name. Averaged like 4 mpg during Miller's first two years, transferred to LaSalle for two years then transferred to Providence.
