Id project starters to be Conerway, Wilkerson, Goode, DeVries, Bailey.

This years roster is basically Iowa under Fran.   It’s not good enough imo, but that’s what the roster feels like to me.  Same strengths and weaknesses, but better wing depth.

Iowa under Fran on the low side. Fran was not a good defensive coach. Hopefully CDD is. But if Tony Bennett or Bo Ryan ran out that lineup nobody would be fretting over defense. In other words, there’s more than one way to play defense and an athletic shot blocker is nice but not a must.

Hoping for a Ryan/Bennett defense is crazy with a first year team so I’m not suggesting we see that. But I think (hope) we fall some between that and Fran’s turnstile defense.

Stylistically we should be more active on Defense. I was referring to roster makeup, athleticism and offensive capabilities. So I guess if we get Frans offense and a upgraded defense we should be solid.

I like it.  I love it. Want so more of it (a 7 foot rim protecting Big).

Seriously though, he’s is the one guy you know for sure what you can get.  Does he overlap a lot of our projected talent? Yep.  But it’s a no brainer.  Gonna be able to run 5 man lineups where everyone can shoot including some bench pieces.

Defense remains the biggest question and overall athleticism.  I’m concerned here, but Goode will play a lot.

We won’t be giving away points, because CDD won’t be going all Francon on a semi-regular basis

Fran has never had a defense ranked as high DeVries had last year....and that really wasn't a very talented West Virginia team.  Hansberry and Harris couldn't get on the court at Illinois and they both played major roles at WV.

Don’t really have a problem with it, a lot of unknown, and from an outsiders perspective I can see why he’d put us there.

Yup, until teams start getting bonus points or some such for being higher ranked I could not care less.

Disagree. There are a ton of teams that have all but entirely new rosters, and with guys that are infinitely less proven than players like Tucker D, Wilkerson, Conerway, and Bailey. So go ahead; pick Nebraska - with (except for Mast) proven failures at the P5 level all through their lineup at 12th, or USC with a completely new team (as always with Musselman) at 10th, or NW, with Martinelli and a really, really bad roster around him at 14.

That's a completely f'd up list if you ask me.

Does anyone know when the trip to Puerto Rico is?

1st game is 8/6 and then I think they play the 10th and 12th, though I might be off on that part.

From ITH back in May so the actual schedule could have changed since then.

The Hoosiers will square off with a Puerto Rican All-Star team to open the tour. The game will be played on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum.

Indiana will then play a pair of games against Mega Superbet, a professional club based out of Belgrade, Serbia, that competes in the Adriatic Basketball Association to close the tour. The club was founded in 1998 and has produced 16 players drafted into the NBA since 2014, including three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, All-NBA Defensive Team selection Ivica Zubac, and 2022 first-round pick Nikola Jovic. Game one against Mega will be played on Saturday, Aug. 9, with the rematch coming on Monday, Aug. 11. Both games will be played at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum.

Has anything come out about streaming? I’ve not seen anything but surely someone’s doing it. It’d be straight stealing money. Hit me for $20 a game and I’m gonna give’em $60.

Been awhile ago, but I believe I read there will be no streaming.  Best (only?) option to follow the action might be ESPN's Gamecast.

I remember having to watch the Bahamas games from someone's (might have been The Dorks?) Facebook live lol.

For some crazy reason - probably early senility - I'm thinking they even attempted to stop people from using their cell phones to film the Bahamas games.
