However, I am old enough to remember that 93 squad. That bunch was good enough to win it all. I remember sitting and my room (my memory isn’t the greatest so I may say something out of way) crying when Henderson went down. I also remember that we beat Michigan (Fab 5) by 2-3 games for first place that season and the rest of the league by 5-6 games. That team was dominant! man was that bunch solid. Greg G, Damon, Calbert, Henderson and Nover with Pat G, Reynolds and Brian Evans off the bench. I hated that damn Kansas team we lost too. Also note, I thought our 92 team was good enough although wasn’t affected by injuries that was beat by Duke in the Final 4. I wore #40 that year in youth league basketball because of Calbert. Guy was sooo freaking smooth. Damn, if only! Tasmanian Devil, Joe_hoopsier, thebigweave and 1 other 3 1 Quote
cthomas Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 So much about recruiting is perception. The teams who are always mentioned to be final four contenders are usually in the front of top recruits minds. CMW has done a remarkable job of getting us into their minds. He has credentials to market and he has a great staff. But this becomes a momentum thing where the more top kids pick IU, the more top kids consider IU. The optiminist in me thinks, barring a complete failure this year, really good times are ahead. Stromboli, HoosierHoopster, Redcamaro and 1 other 4 Quote

Notice Woody is bringing in guys who are consumed with basketball, guys who get the IU tradition, guys who become fan favorites?
