Could you imagine getting a five star recruit in back to back days? I know Yogi and Zeller were a few weeks apart.

And they weren’t in the same class. McNeeley and Fland would both be favorites to be McDAA’s and I think the last time IU had 2 in the same class was Reed and Patterson something like 30 years ago. If you get really greedy and assume Queen for a minute I don’t think we’ve ever had 3.

Different classes for them.  Would be interesting the last time IU landed to 5 stars in same class.   Last time IU landed multiple top 20 kids in same class?

I think Rivals had Reneau as a 5* but 26 nationally.

Jalen Hood was only a 4 star on 247 (26th ironically).  IU could be entering recruiting territory that they are really that familiar with doing which is kind of surprising when thinking of the IUs history.   Woody is on the verge of doing special things here on the recruiting front

I realize this is different than 5* but IU has had 2 Burger Boys in the same class three times. IU has never had 3 in the same class. Liam, Boogie and Queen could all possibly become Burger Boys.

On a side note the 1991-1992 IU roster had 5 Burger Boys + Reynolds’s was a Parade All American (but he was not a Burger Boy) + Calbert….That’s 7 of the roster spots. Talk about loaded!!

I checked and 247 had Reneau as a 4* at 38.

If only Woodson could recruit . . . <snicker>

Liam on the 15th and Boogie on the 16th would give this program a major major boost. Would be the top story in college basketball. Also a good message to Queen, Haralson, and others.

Right now Duke and UNC are the only others to have multiple top 20 recruits. I think Rutgers and maybe Georgia will join that list. However, a top 5 class brewing in Bloomington.

Last time multiple top 20 players in the same class would probably be 1976 class - Glen Grunwald and Derek Holcomb. Butch Carter would have been top 25. Woodson (according to Parade AA Team) wasn’t a 5 star, but ended up as best in Big 10.

We technically had Josh Smith (#5) and DJ White (#14) in the '04 class but not sure if we want to count that since obviously Smith didn't come and took advantage of the final straight-to-NBA year.  That was a little before my time following this kind of thing but I think we had a puncher's chance at Rondo and Dwight Howard too.  That could have been an unreal class.

That oughta cover it.

While I am NOT Trilly Donovan (as far as you guys know)it is interesting to note that ...

Exactly 1 hour, 16 minutes after my post, Trilly basically tweeted 'non-committal but optimistic' bullet point number seven from my post.

REMEMBER; I am not the true Trilly Donovan (as far as you guys know).

Wtf.  First Chris exposes I'm too old to figure out technology now you're saying my freshman year at IU was 30 something years ago.  It was only 29 dammit.

Oldfart, you're old too so they're calling you out also (kinda).  Ban them.

So is this what Trilly meant with the 11 days things or is Boogie still a possibility on the 16th when his coach comes back? Exciting time!

No he was talking about Boogie

Honestly, 30 years, I thought that sounded old then saw the mention of Reed and Patterson.  They came in after me.  What in the world. Decided to do some quick math. What the heck?  My freshman year was 39 years ago.  This calculator on the iphone is clearly faulty, no way.

Just tried it again, still faulty.
