You're right, we don't have a single player that's really a good shooter.  We brought in Kopp and Stewart but both are 36-37% for their career; decent but not that good.  We need better than them, especially since that's really all they can do.

Check the tape.  But Kopp doesn't miss when he gets the ball in the corner with the ability to shuffle  one step toward the sideline.  If his feet are planted, it's a prayer.

Think about what Woody did with this patchwork of players.  In year 1.  Granted, he made some mistakes.  And it took a while to get some of the others in the game for serious minutes.  But show me where one person said this team was going to make a run in the Big 10 Tournament.  Watch out next week -- depending on match ups, we could surprise some people.

With the right draw, IU could reach the S16. I’m really excited to see the reveal tomorrow night

Really proud of the Hoosiers. They played hard. There was a lot of movement on offense and you can really seeing them click chemistry wise. Three point shooting was our downfall again.

What do I know, but I think this is easily an 11 seed team. If I was a 6 seed, I wouldn't want to see Indiana in the first round.

Finally something to cheer about in March!

Kopp and Stewart are both 36-37% but beyond that how many open threes do they (and Rob&Galloway) pass up?
It doesn’t show up in the stats but the volume of open threes we take is too low.

It’s way too low - we still shoot by volume towards the bottom of the conference. But, I think that bc TJD is usually dominant and we play through him - next season would expect our 3’s to go up. Would like it now, but neither Stew or Kopp create for their shot well, and while we’ve been moving the ball back from middle we don’t do much inside out

That’s part of the reason but Kopp and Rob, among others, go through periods when they seem hesitant to pull the trigger when they do have open shots.

They do look hesitant but they’re often not very open, our 3-point shooting is pretty easy to defend, teams know how to defend our outside game, spacing is mediocre, we don’t move it inside out, and because neither if them can create their own shot well, and Kopp needs a step to hit, they don’t shoot as much

From Jordan - Beyond proud of my team. Season’s not over yet tho and we got some dancing to doBy then I’ll be back 100% ready to go . Let’s go Hoosiers!!!

Anyone else think he put this out intentionally so the committee doesn’t hold his injury against us??? I think it’s a smart move and wouldn’t be surprised if he was told to put that out there even if he’s not really returning.

If it was TJD maybe but Geronimo isn’t gonna make or break us getting in the tourney

No.  Committee isn’t going to change seeds over a 12 minute per game role player.

You are correct. 38% is his total FG %. My bad....or maybe Franklin's.

Forgot about Hunter....

No one else in the current rotation is above 30% on 3's, yet team is shooting 2% better than any year over the last 4 years.

Not great at 34.1% YTD as a team, but not terrible as some here have you believe.

Yes the percentages are improving gradually, a good thing, but the number of shots -- volume -- from outside is bad. Last I checked it was actually lower than under CAM (don't know if that's still true), which is nuts -- but a reflection of playing through TJD and Race. Would expect our outside shooting numbers to grow along with percentage going forward.

I do think Geronimo could have helped guard Murray and maybe cause him to miss a few shots or keep him from getting a couple of those offensive rebounds but the committee isn’t going to care that A bench role player was out.  I think he put that out there like everyone put their comments out there.

Gotta say Im frustrated we didnt win this. Just couldnt stop Iowa when it counted. Guys fought hard though and have given themselves a chance to go dancing.

I think we lost our legs defensively.  All-in-all, I am proud of the way we played and this is how I envisioned us playing for most of the year.  If we play like that in the tournament, we can compete and beat any team in the tournament.

Geronimo would have helped a lot yesterday but I agree he put that out there in excitement at the prospect of playing in the NCAA tournament like the other guys.

For some reason, I see Geronimo having a breakout defensive game in the tourney like Anunoby did.
