Scotty R Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 I don't know what else that Flory needs to see from IU for him to not be real interested in IU. He has been here for plenty of visits and seems close to Cupps. I don't know what a Howard and UM would have to offer that is better than IU. Besides the connection with UC I don't see the draw of them. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Hoosier Roots Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Can someone remind me what his connection is to cinci that is keeping them in this? Just seems like an odd fit. Quote

ziggyiu Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 I'm not aiming this at anyone specifically FYI . . . Maybe Flory goes to Cincinnati, but some people talk like it's a foregone conclusion. The Adams family helped develop A-Hope many years ago, and really good to mediocre talent has come through the US and landed at college basketball programs across the country. There's no reason to believe Flory is a lock for UC. Again, maybe he goes there, but it's not certain. Crimson and Cream 1 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 According to Rupp Rafters, Bidunga has informed them that he is no longer considering them and will not be visiting them. Sounds like he is visiting Duke, which IMO is the team to worry about. lillurk 1 Quote

Crazy disappointing but what can you do. I think he’s my favorite recruit in the class. Hopefully the Queen push can payoff. Maybe door opens for Ngongba a little as he was considered a Duke favorite. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app lillurk 1 Quote

craigyv88 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 This recruitment has been hard to read at times so there could certainly be details and previous efforts from Duke I'm not aware of, but it pretty much sounds like they showed up to the party at the 11th hour and said "Duke's here" and immediately went to the front of the line. I won't be sad if that level of clout dissipates under the new regime there, as it seems to already have a little bit at UNC. J34 1 Quote
Artie86 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I’m starting to feel a bit tired of the recruitment, TBO…. If he comes to IU, absolutely awesome!…. I know he’s a ‘24 recruit, but good grief, I feel like this thing has dragged out forever. JMO. J34 1 Quote

Until something disrupts that balance or Duke falls off in getting guys to the league or losing it will continue, imo. I believe Scheyer wants to be a little less 1NDone so that is an interesting wrinkle. Seeing UK’s off-season has certainly brought a smile to my face. But it might only strengthen Duke’s grasp for a couple more seasons. lillurk 1 Quote
NYhoosier Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Coach k is still very involved in Duke basketball Quote
Alford Bailey Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Never felt like our kind of recruit. Folks are in love with the athleticism which I get to a degree. We are recruiting kids that will have a bigger impact day 1 in this class. We land 4-5 of these kids we are in good with and we won’t miss Flory. lillurk and HoosierTrav 2 Quote

Maybe there isn't much more of the campus life he needs to see at IU. He's a good student, but he won't be going anywhere for the academics, so it's not like he needs the time an OV provides to meet with academic advisors and the like. ALASKA HOOSIER and J34 2 Quote
