Man, that sucks. From the replay it appeared to be his ankle or foot, but no obvious cause. He was just kinda standing there and seemed surprised by it.

Hope he's back soon and finishes strong.

I watched a replay last night and it looks like it hit right as he was getting ready to jump for that rebound. If you look close he jumps off one leg.

2 hours ago from Zach Osterman --  Per a spokesman, Rob Phinisee remains in the evaluation process after his injury forced exit from the first half of last night's game against Penn State. Mike Woodson next meets with media tomorrow before his team's trip to Maryland. #iubb

Also from Osterman  --  FWIW (this is me, not spokesman), have heard there's optimism Phinisee's injury is not season-ending, but too early to know anything for certain.

It kind of reminded me of Sherron Wilkerson's spiral fracture in that there was no contact or awkward movement.  Whatever the case, fingers crossed.

Reading tea leaves, sounds like he's gonna be out for a while whatever the nature of this injury is.

That stinks. Hope he can get back sooner rather than later.

Better than what we all thought.

I know it’s anecdotal, but when I was about 25, I had a mid-basketball game non-contact tear in my arch that felt like I’d been shot in the foot.

Thought it was serious—it was the fibers tearing/technically plantar fasciitis. Within a few days I was walking ‘okay.’

Within a month I was fine.

I could be misremembering but... isn't plantar what Lander has been dealing with?

yes I think that is what has been rumored. Not sure it has ever been confirmed
