cthomas Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 As far as I'm concerned, I'm always in our guys corner through thick and thin as long as they are committed to the team. I've liked Rob because he has seemed to be a team guy. He has been through a lot and he keeps showing up. And, occasionally, he is superb. Southside Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I just hope this game put his confidence level in a place where it stays lol.... If we get that kind of play the rest of the year (not saying he needs to be the hero every night), we're sitting pretty. lillurk 1 Quote
IUFAN1976 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Rob was great all night!!! Our entire team was focused and great all night, especially our Bench!!! Great win and great job Rob!!! lillurk and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote
lillurk Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 Let’s hope and pray that Rob just had a cramp or a stinger or something minor. What a great ambassador for the program he’s been. Dave from Dayton, cthomas, Evariste Galois and 3 others 6 Quote

He was just kinda standing there and seemed surprised by it. Hope he's back soon and finishes strong. I watched a replay last night and it looks like it hit right as he was getting ready to jump for that rebound. If you look close he jumps off one leg. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 2 hours ago from Zach Osterman -- Per a spokesman, Rob Phinisee remains in the evaluation process after his injury forced exit from the first half of last night's game against Penn State. Mike Woodson next meets with media tomorrow before his team's trip to Maryland. #iubb Also from Osterman -- FWIW (this is me, not spokesman), have heard there's optimism Phinisee's injury is not season-ending, but too early to know anything for certain. coonhounds, reconmkd, lillurk and 4 others 7 Quote

Reading tea leaves, sounds like he's gonna be out for a while whatever the nature of this injury is. That stinks. Hope he can get back sooner rather than later. Quote

MikeRoberts Posted January 28, 2022 Posted January 28, 2022 While his injury is TBD, we have been very fortunate thus far. Injuries, while the suck, are very normal when you have 13 guys practicing and playing at this level. I feel for him as a senior missing any time but IU has been lucky thus far this season HoosierHoopster, Stuhoo, Hoosierfanyuh and 1 other 4 Quote

I know it’s anecdotal, but when I was about 25, I had a mid-basketball game non-contact tear in my arch that felt like I’d been shot in the foot. Thought it was serious—it was the fibers tearing/technically plantar fasciitis.
